Well in the last few weeks I have put full effort into comping, to include entering mostly all competitions ending every day. The 31st was a killer.. that took me 4 or 5 days to get all those completed.

And all I have won is a bottle of Nails Inc polish (thank you) and a handwash from Lempsip (thanks also)!

I defintely have to agree that in even a month, comp wins have decreased from what they used to be

I'm sure most of us a genuinely happy for anyone who wins anything :D

I think I've done over the last couple of years with prizes. Had a great win very early on - possibly even from an entry on my first day of comping and that got me hooked. Don't think I'd even got a user name then, just stumbled on the comps pages and entered some, then had a call from a radio station - gulp!

I honestly think a lot of it's down to odds and how many you enter, along with a big dose of luck. Also, some are luckier because of the region they're in. I won an Essex comp recently and am sure they must've discounted entries that weren't from Essex (despite not saying that in the T&Cs). I've also won tickets to the theatre, awards night and a couple of London hotel comps. There are far fewer entries to the 'local' ones. I was at the premiere for Devil's Double last night (ticket win), and only 35 or so people had ticked the 'thanks' button on MSE. Obviously I'm much more likely to have won that than say an ITV comp where thousands enter!

I aim for one "free thing" a month, be that a free sample of shampoo - to our biggest win via appliances online a tumble dryer. So far I have not had a month without a free gift and I hope my luck doesnt dry up. I have changed the way I purchase products, opting for those that offer gifts via tokens/points or competition entries and the children love getting involved in making funny photos and art.

So I am playing right into the hands of promoters, as they planned - and sometimes I get a present back! I wish everyone lots of luck and pleasure from your hobby.

I won a fruit shoot kit this month and already only on day 2 :D xx
    Wishing you all good luck!

oops sorry didnt mean you RG jtr2803 mentioned about 2 names keep popping up on facebook, just hoping they would enlighten me lol

Sorry ....just to play devil's advocate, while eating my lunch

I too have noticed on FB there's on particular comper who's all over every competition like a rash, I've done a bit more fb comping in the day since being on crutches & confined to the house ......which is driving me MAD!...anyhoo I digress.. this comper is literally on every page I click through, sharing & generally "spamming", she's not even one of my FB friends I just see her everywhere . I've never seen her thank a post on here either....someone mentioned it on a thread the other day!

Can you tell all this staying indoors is driving me a little insane!

I wonder if this is the same lady that I see everywhere on FB? She wins everything! Her name is all over the place. I do wonder how she does it. Obviously the MSE at the end of her name is not hampering her in any way. Would love to know if it is the same person you are thinking of?

I bet her house is a mess :D :rotfl:

I see the same one with MSE in the name winning quite alot too :)

I haven't noticed the same people winning but the again I don't take any notice if my own name isn't there

I have been comping for about 10 yrs and have yet to win a FB comp.. It really doesn't bother me though, everyone is in with the same chance imo and well done to whoever does win

I really think the comping fairy frowns on those who begrudge others winning so maybe this is where you are going wrong!

I have had some good months and some quiet months over the years - thats the way it goes.. it should be a fun hobby and once you start getting worried or annoyed at the lack of wins then it might be time to have a rest from it

I never said I begrudge that person for winning, just that she has won lots and lots of comps on FB and that when they win almost all of them it is disheartening. I didn't say she didn't deserve it or anything of that ilk.
As someone else said, shes spams the heck out of the walls, perhaps that is working for her.
I don't think karma has any influences on wins by the way, but thanks for that.
This is why I've never joined in a conversation until now, I'll go back to being quiet.
Will see if I can remove my other posts since they've been taken the wrong way.
Good luck to everyone and thanks to those who post comps.

Oh Rach I wasn't talking about you specifically so sorry if I offended you

Fwiw I rarely join in convo's on the comps board anymore because everything you do say can be taken the wrong way!

Oh dear - I will also go back to being quiet! :(

I don't think I'll bother doing FB comps any more as apart from being a pain to do (I hate having to keep liking when I'm only really liking to win), also I didn't realize that you have to check on FB to see if you've won either
