They should be made illegal.
How many tales of woe have I read here of a breakup and then the other partner runs up huge debts and cleans out the account? HUNDREDS and still they come.....
I would not allow anyone access to my money willy nilly and I see it as just laziness, ignorance or financial naievety that people cannot run their lives using a bank account each and decide which bills each will pay from their own account.
When you break up and get fleeced by the other half, remember you read this post and chose to ignore it and not set up your own account. :rotfl::beer:

Relationships should be made illegal, that way she never would have been left in this position. To be fair, that is a very very rare situation. 4 weeks of being unconscious is rare. I don't know anyone who has been unconscious for even a day. He may never regain it and die, its quite likely.
I doubt he will work again for a couple of years if atall.
She may have to not rely on his income anymore. very sad.
I'm actually coming round to your way of thinking OP, let's make anything that could go wrong illegal.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -

What I have posted is correct and helpful to anyone about to begin life as part of a couple. I hope they give the matter some thought. They don't have to. Ignorance is bliss till it all goes wrong.
Wow and there was me thinking when we became a couple that we had to think about dull stuff like who would do what around the house/if we would have kids/where we would live.....well all we needed to know was to not open a joint account.:rotfl:0 -
Then cash should be illegal. I mean, it's so easy to just take it from someone's wallet. it just facilitates theft. Never mind that it works for the vast majority of the people, no, let's just make it illegal. If you carry cash you are an idiot! It could be stolen!Dont twist it penguin.
