I have been to Ingeus twice, both times they didn't have a clue what to do for me (as I have already been offered a job but it doesn't start until September)
I ended up telling them what to do, and then when they booked my next appointment I suggested they work out my tax credits. On arrival she said she didn't know how to, but that was ok as I'd already done that myself.
All in all, I can't see how they are going to help anyone get a job.

And the most annoying part is that I have to stay under their training programme for two years (even though I have a job) and they will be paid at the end of it for a job I found myself.
Have you told them you have been offered job & have you given employer/job details to Provider, as they need this to claim their fee/commission from DWP in future?

If you are not happy for them to get a commission for a job you found, you can withdraw your consent (if you gave it) for them to contact your future employer to check employment details & consent to pass on these details to DWP who may also check with your employer over next 2 years. ;)

You can withdraw this consent at any time & should not affect things.

In the test questions Advisors are expected to see 12 clients a day according to the website. How can you see 12 clients between 9am and I presume 5pm and give them your undivided? Working for them sounds unpleasant.

yes I am bitter because Im sick to death of being given the third degree about getting a job every time I sign on and Im 58 years old. Ive worked since I was 15. Im not saying I dont want to work and I am actively seeking work its just the ridiculousness of being booted up the derrier by people half and a quarter my age because I cant find a job when at my age there are not many jobs to be had....Im not and have never been a lazy person in this respect....I dont get my pension for another 6 years. Oh joy!

I will be putting on my job log that I applied to INGEUS and the outcome. Not that my job log will be looked at as many of them arent. In fact I keep rehashing the same job log just changing the dates and jobs applied for! And nobody has noticed this since I keep seeing different advisers every time I go.
You, know it's crap, they know it's crap in this economic environment.

If you were to talk to them in private, I'm sure many would say this.
But they need a job & will do what they are told.

Do the best you can & don't let it get you down.

Smileydongle..didnt you get sanctioned for turning the job down? Eleanor Rig didnt you get sanctioned for telling them what to do? Some of the videos on their webpage mention clients with difficult behaviour and how to handle them (not saying you were being difficult) but rumour has it that if you do show any signs of not wanting to do this that and the other you will get sanctioned.

I also noticed on this Ingeus website they ask for your age on the Equal Ops form....well there is always one way to find out how old you are even if youre told dont put it on your CV.

It seems that company double standards are ok as long as the person claiming benefits is not doing them.
By 'sanctioned' do you mean whilst on JSA because if so, I wasn't on JSA at that time so was 'lucky' in that I could pick and choose without consequence. I agree about the 12 clients a day which is why I turned it down, I felt it unfair. BUT if they are (and according to people I know on the grapevine) being successful with their clients then all power to them, guess it wasn't the right thing for me.

to get sent on the course you must have been at least signing on for national insurance credits. so they could still sanction you and not pay your national insurance for the period of the sanction.

How come you are on the Work Programme if you already have a job?

their job does not start until september.

To be clear I wasn't sent on a course, I actually applied to be one of their advisors. The JCP didn't send me, it was me who spotted the ad and applied. Nothing to do with being a client.

I know, but referral to the Work Programme can be deferred if the person has a job start, job interview etc!?

really thats surprising. i always thought it was business as usual until the person signs off because otherwise they could be let off from something and then the job could fall through.
i knew a bloke who got put on new deal 2 months before his 60th birthday. as soon as he turned 60 he packed it in and went onto pension credit.

Not quite business as usual as they are not let off but "deferred" for a set period of time to check they start work, attend a job interview, retire, go on pension credits etc!At end of day its pointless referring someone unless they definately should be there, mainly because it costs and also the Jobcentre would not get the credit for the off flow from getting the person off the benefit the WP would!
