have the weekly totals been put up yet? been away overnight and tried to read all that has been posted since tuesday eve but there is an awful lot!!!
good news, yet another item sold on amazon! £12.35, it actually looks like it costs more to sell with amazon, this dvd box set cost the buyer £18.99 and I got £12.35 (amazon charges + postage £6.64), one I sold on ebay cost the buyer £33.70 and I got £28.01 (ebay, paypal + postage £5.69)finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0 -
Finallydebtfree no totals yet, think WOA was waiting on quite a few people's weekly totals last time they posted about it.
I agree amazon is more expensive fees wise but the advantages are you don't have to pay anything up front and they get the money from the buyers debit card for you, take out their (rather steep) fees and pay you - so less hassle and more security imo.
Posted the book I sold on Amazon yesterday and the ebay thing that finished last night at lunchtime so another £4.02 to add to my total.
Need to spend some time on ebay doing some research as I want to see how well a few things I have sell to see if it's worth me putting them on there - think that's this weekends challenge - along with working out how much I have in all the various ptc and survey sites I do and extracting anything I can :money:Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98

11 of my ebay auctions finished this afternoon with mixed results. I will be updating my total tomorrow after I have posted out the items so I know the postal costs involved.£2 savers club 2025 #40

If they didnt get me the results they didnt get put on the chart (sorry not meant to sound harsh) otherwise you could be waiting for people who have changed their mind on joining the challenge.finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0

Well I've done another cd on amazon and my last ebay listing is at £25 with an hour to go!! :j
Managed to get some jiffy bags through freecycle today, along with some books for my boys, so wont pay anything for packaging all these cds and dvds I'm selling off.
Bit worried though, my ex is coming over sat to pick up the kids and empty some of his stuff out of the garage, hope he doesn't ask where the grill has gone cos the winning bidder is collecting it tomorrow night!!! :rotfl:
Oh well!! He's knows I'm freecycling some of the stuff in there that I know he doesn't want and I dont need so hopefully he'll think I've done that!
Cant seem to shift the old fridge freezer though, I've had 2 people rip my hand off to accept it, the first only said they didn't want it a week after I offered cos I mailed them to find out when they were collecting and the second has just mailed to say that he's got another one so doesn't need it!! Some people!!!
We've been quite lucky with the wind here today, I've had to stand the bird table up a few times and hold on to my youngest who just couldn't walk forwards in it but thats about it so far. Haven't risked putting out the rubbish and recycling though, poor binmen are gonna be colelcting bags from all over the place in the morning!!!0 -
Sold another item on eBay so am now at least in credit after covering my listing fees (on all items listed), postage etc - 0.46p in credit to be precise!
Hope some more sell - took me 2 hours to list them all even with auctiva! Watchers mean very little I know but I still get excited when I see I have some - need to get out more methinks! :rotfl::rotfl:

Does anybody check how much things will cost to post before they list on ebay?
I always weigh whatever it is on my kitchen scales, check on royal mail website and charge accordingly. Some of the baby clothes I sold last week went for a pound but had £3 postage!!!!
As for amazon, if its a single cd or dvd then the postage they charge more than covers it. But then I sold a twin dvd set and it only just came in under what they had accounted for. For a £5 sale, after postage I get just under £4 which isn't too bad IMO.
Ooh that reminds, I found a few books today I dont want anymore, I'm off to list them!!!0 -
Some of my ebay sales finished last night, so £14.08 of pure profit - all were freebies.
Got some cashback from medical stuff I paid for and claimed back.
Got some cashback from my PAYG mobile, have since gone to contract but can claim every 3 months for that too :j so have put in a claim for last months, waiting to hear on that.
Paid extra on amazon for next day delivery then complained when it took them 4 days to send it off when it was in stock so got reimbursed for that.
Have put in a claim for interview expenses I did before Christmas as I didn't get another interview for the place (was going to put 2 claims in same time), so I'm hoping that will be a nice amount of money as it was nearly 450 miles!
One of items on ebay currently has sold, has 6 watchers and not finishing until Sunday so I'm hoping I'll have a few more bidders for that.
I'm also waiting to hear about a stooze card which the bank forgot to tell me I would start incurring costs from the following months' bill, and I'm supposed to get a letter next week on that one, hopefully with the £11 I had to pay up for their mistake.
Sold a book on amazon but that won't go into my bank until next week so I'm not counting it as this week's money.
In all been quite busy!0 -
