  • I suck at this compared to most of you! I already sold practically everything I had that's worth selling to get Christmas spends and I managed to get up town to scour the pound shops and charity shops but I didn't see anything that I thought I'd make a profit from so I'm struggling here! :-(
'Still dealing with my debt, but I'll get there. Keep smiling.' :D
  • after watching the pg tips advert mum asked if i still had the monkey from the itv digital adverts that my ex got me, seems like they are going pretty well on ebay, but there is NO WAY im selling him, not even for this challenge, not even if im that close to finishing that all I would need to do was to sell him!
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

I'm so obsessed with this challenge I made myself a spreadsheet this morning at work (needed a break and doing a spreadsheet looks more like work then mse ;) ) just to keep track of what I'm making and where I'm making it from, also made a chart to put in my weekly totals, what I should be getting each week to achieve my target and how much better/worse I'm doing. Even more determined to make my targets each week now.

I really look forward to coming on and seeing how well everyone's doing too :T

  • I think some others are including savings from walking to work instead of using public transport. weather permitting am going to attempt the 1 hour walk to work tomorrow :undecided not sure if it will be a permenant thing or if I will even include it in the challenge if it is (as I said before I am trying really hard this year to save money wherever possible, hopefully this month Ill be able to save at least £250 on top of my usual £220 :))

it's a 2-in-1 for me... helps with the weight loss challenge as well :P
A Monkey is for life, not just for Xmas!

  • Made another sale on ebay last night but was too late to include it for last weeks total so thats another £2.20 for this week so far, will need to change my signature!

  • hey monstersmummy how did the first day at the new school go? im dying to know

    Hi FDF,
The new school has been a huge success!! I'm so relieved!!!
He got 10/10 on a spelling test he had not prepared for (everyone else got the words to learn last week), he's fascinated by his new teacher cos she has a funny accent (she's american!) and he came home full of beans as he had friends to play with in the playground (this was my main concern as at his old school I quite often saw him sat on his own in the corner of the playground at lunchtime when I was picking up his lil bro. Most heartbreaking thing you can ever see!).
He loves it and cant wait to go back tomorrow. :j

And I've just sold another CD on amazon...and the travel cot has just been collected so I actually have the cash for that now!!

    Hi All

Just booked myself on a course - hopefully will get myself a new job at the end of it as the one I'm doing now is just a temporary measure to keep paying the bills and get me out of the house. So the amount of money I do get on this will be aimed at paying off for the course.

I've been ok'd for a 0% interest card for 12 months, ok have had to pay the 2% fee but as current job isn't £20k+ I couldn't get a free one, but I've paid for the course via my cashback card and then will do the BT, the cashback alone will pay for the BT rate. I'm hoping that the course will open some doors as everytime I apply for a certain place I know I could work at, the only feedback I get is that you haven't got x qualification no chance. If I get to this place I will get a £20k pay increase so will pay the course quickly. Just hope I get a good job from it now!

Also when I phoned to see what credit limit I had been accepted with the new CC, I was told I had 2 other cards with them - thought I only had 1 but never use them anyway, was asked if I'd reduce my credit on one, said no (only got £400 on it) but would reduce the other one to 1k instead of £3k, was then told that I had £47.67 credit on first one - hadn't used them for 12 months so didn't realise I had credit on them (actually can't remember spending that much on it!) So I will be adding that to my totals too tonight.

Ebay - had 1 question on 1 item, have a bit of a buying war on a freebie I put on - 6 finish on Wednesday the others Sun and next Wed.

Better start revising for my course.

I've got a quick question - this week I got paid some expenses from work for petrol, parking, tolls etc. But I managed to pay for the original expenditure out of my normal weekly budget so this feels like extra money to me (and has already been used to make an extra payment to Marbles). So can I count it towards the challenge?

Just about to take a look at Amazon - inspired by this thread.

Well done to all. My guess for the first weekly target is £4350

Hi folks i've trawled through the huge amounts of e-mila since flower of scotland posted this and i can't find an answer!!!

I'm in the same boat here where i counter for petrol out of my normal wages and luckily because of the overtime i've been doing over the last week for the challenge, my bosses are going to give me mileage as well?

can i count this towards my total because i wasn't expecting it and had catered for it in my normal salary????

still not off the mark yet!!!! good things come to those who wait!!!! i hope???
