  • Hi Annie

On the rules of the old challenge wasn't it you couldn't spend the money before you had generated it?

so unless the stamp to post the letter to the bank was free or used from money made in the challenge then i don't think it should count

Things like the insurance if it was done on the internet i think should count as it didn't cost anything to make the savings (the cost of the internet would have been paid for anyway and it wouldn't have costed any extra to click on an extra website)

But those are just my opinions

yay got my first sale on amazon. sold an old dvd tonight and made a grand total of £1.95. not alot i know but every little helps.
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed
  • Wow Ben you are doing well. How have you made £50 so quickly. Was it another coffee table?:T
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D
  • After reading another thread somewhere on here, by someone who wanted to buy GCSE revision guides, I have dug out my son's. He left them here when he left home. They seem to be selling for about £1.50 on ebay and 1p on Amazon. Taking into consideration that Amazon pay for the postage and there are no Paypal fees, which is the best place to sell them? ( It sounds like one of those IQ puzzles doesn't it? )

Nothing quite so exciting, unwanted Christmas presents:p

would have been more but i fancied a body fat scale thingy from Lloyds pharmacy at £15 (25% body fat which is not good:eek:)

i keep looking in the charity shops for another along with the retro phones, though will need to do some ebay searching and seeing if they are still making the cash

  • Have signed up to new mobile contract which works on redemption so will get cash back of £31 in two months. Even better, the new contract will save me £240 over 12 months plus with the extra free mins, I can cut my landline bills too. Can't count that I know but it gave me a warm glow!

Am going to do the match betting too. OH says there should be lots of additional free bets around in March due to Cheltenham (horse racing) but of course you don't have to use them on the gee gees.

add your ebay fees to the postage you will charge the seller

so the £1.50 on ebay would remain

i'm not sure whether the postage cost and amazon fee would leave you with £1.49 of the postal credit

I think you get £1.41 for a penny book on Amazon. If you sell on Ebay for £1.50 you have the ebay fees, and if being paid by payal, paypal fees also.

  • Thanks Benedictadams re. your opinion on insurance saving - I did this on line today using the tips from MSE & compared this against my renewal quote on a like for like basis. I have managed to improve the cover too at a lesser cost! Plus if I go through Greasy Palm I should get 1.5 % cashback (which I will also add to the pot!)
    Can't resist a bargain!!

Just came on to post that I sold a PC Sims game within half an hour on Amazon tonight! That's the third expansion pack I've sold quickly so if you have any lying around the house unplayed then go list them!

Not adding to my total until I actually have the money though.
