EL - I'm a PA for the NHS however I used to run a business service from home offering typing services etc. My main income was from typing dissertations/theses for students however I did get some regular work from an elderly gentleman who was writing his war memoirs. I simply did not make enough money to stay afloat and the time envolved wasn't worth it as a sole source of income. I also made some money from CV's and covering letters. I used to charge 75 for 10k word dissertations and 120 for 20k words (inc draft for approval within 7 days, final hard copy and copy on disk). When you provide a draft copy make sure it's watermarked 'DRAFT' as otherwise they can keep it and disappear before they pay you!! I believe the going rate now is approx 10 pounds for 1k words. Some uni's offer special support for disabled students and employ typists directly to help out.

I searched for translationon ebay and there are a couple of people advertising who clearly state 'DO NOT BID' in the item description and request that anyone interested contact them directly through ebay.

Sorry if I've gone on a bit but hope some of it helps.

    Luv Jxx

    Where's every1 gone?

I'm doing a car boot in the morning which I'm hoping to make at least 40from (don't want to set my sights too high but am secretly hoping for a bit more as have got loads and loads of stuff to sell). This will hopefully boost my total up to over the 500 mark :T and declutter my house. I'm going to have a wander round while I'm there and see what the other stall holders are selling to try and get some ideas for future bootsales :p

Hiya thanks for the info - just came in from our new patio / sort of garden, aaaah lovely to rent a place with a bit of space outside!

Sounds good and from what you mention could be worth a go, I get good business from my current clients but would like a little more income probably typing up as you say - will investigate, that's great food for thought as I enjoy typing and could do with the cash in summer (all that Pinot Grigio awaits - ha ha - she dreams) x

We are up to £1696.43. Haven't put much effort in this week - OK, haven't put any effort in this week.

I am planning to put some items on ebay tomorrow and list some more books on Amazon tonight. As things are getting sorted out - if it doesn't go online it will go in a box in the van and down to the auction house.

Shan't be updating my total again until Monday at the earliest. Went away midweek which ate into my money making window but that's life after all. If it wasn't for need of sleep I would be on this mission 24hrs a day as it is so addictive. Have set myself a personal challenge to hit Bronze for May 1st seeing as I am playing catch up :)
