  • if I had been including my leftover money at the end of each month I would have already reached bronze and be well on my way to silver and almost definately would reach gold by the end of the challenge

realising this has made me feel a bit better about my total!!

good luck for week 15 everyone!!! :)

Yep, I get the idea - thanks! I think thats what I'm doing - I haven't included buying cheaper birthday cards, or paying bills online instead of using a stamp, that kind of thing, I've really cut back in all sorts of ways. I fiddled about with my online grocery order to cut back on about £2, and refused a substitution because altho the item was still quorn, it was hugely more expensive per kilo. And I get a delivery cos it not only saves me time, but money too - if I bought that stuff I'd have to get a bus out there and then a taxi (no car, miles from the shops), thats about £9.50 in the daytime. Apologies to all for rambling - 5 hours sleep after a concert will do that to you (to me, actually, lol!).

Does anyone else feel like this challenge has become a way of life now? cant believe how much money Ive acumulated (sp?) over the last 3 months (not as much as some but Im happy with what I have)

Completely! It has made me do the spreadsheet so I can see how much Ebay profit I have - would have given up by now as I wouldn't have seen the benefit of a 30p profit on a really nice item etc.

I also feel like the endless surveys and listing is achieving something which helps gets me motivated.

exactly!! it all mounts up and Im sure it would have dissappeared otherwise!! although I was still dissappointed at the one book that cleared a whole 2p profit, kind of think that wasnt really worth the effort! :rotfl: but all the little bits add up, Im still waiting to open my loose change pot at the final week of the challenge, again there wont be a great deal in there but it will still be money that was spent one way or another!

I tried looking through the thread to find a spreadsheet template but gave up after trawling through about 20pages! Could someone direct me to one please as it would be so useful in keeping tabs on this challenge. Thanks :)

Woodyrocks - I just created my own in excel - column for items selling, the listing fee, the closing fee, the paypal fee, the postage and the total amount received from it - then minus with the formula thingy and have another column for the total profit, also pop packing purcahses in as an item, just put a 0 in the other columns. Then have totals at the bottom too so I can see when I need to transfer money from Paypal to my current account to cover postage.

That probably doesn't make any sense! Sorry
