I think by Jul you should be able to book. Are you getting a wedding pacakge as you may be able to get these earlier through the travel agents.
Congratulations, hope you have fab time, are you getting married by Elvis?
(If I marry again!!! I would definitly want Elvis)

    Hiya Kerry

We are not booking as part of a package unfortunately as we are spending a few days in Vegas with family and friends for the wedding - then flying down to Lima in Peru for our honeymoon travelling around South America. I am arranging it all independantly so just wanna make sure I can get the best deals for me and the rest of the party!

As for Elvis - I am not sure yet, I am tempted to get him to sing me down the aisle but not sure if I can go that cheesy!!!!!

    Thanks for your help

    Hello there

I am getting married in Las Vegas in June 08 - I have tried to book but obvously its too early - how far in advance is the best time to get bargains? As soon as they are released?

Many thanks for all your tips I have been taking notes as I read all 16 pages, this has been great :j

    Congratulations!

If you are getting married at a hotel, I would contact them for details of any packages available for weddings. if you are getting married outside of a hotel, I would start researching where you would most like to stay (say your top 3 or 4 or 5 places) and check some of the websites that compile offers available regularly to get an idea what might be out there. You could look here:

    http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/

to see what was available for dates in June last year and this year for the hotels you are interested in and when they were posted...not guaranteed the same hotels will do similar deals similar times next year, but a good point to start from.

Once you have in your head what a fair price would be for your hotel of choice, book it as soon as you see rates in that region. You can always cancel later if something better comes along so long as you book directly with the hotel.

Also, if you will have a lot of guests attending the wedding who will need rooms, you could contact the hotel to see if they do any group booking discounts.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

someone posted this new website for Vegas promotions over at lasvegastalk.com

    http://www.vegas-promotions.com/

It's searchable by hotel, end date of promotion, etc...which makes it quite nifty...I don't have the patience to wade through the posts at fatwallet, etc...but this I like!

This is great - thank you!

Hiya thanks for this - looks like I am thinking along the same lines as you!

We have been through and selected two hotels we would like to stay in - The Venetian and TI (as a cheaper option). I emailed TI to see if we could get the rates, but they havent got them yet but have me on file as wanting small group rates and will contact me when they are available. Thanks for the link - I will have a look at that this afternoon and get my head around it.

What about the flights? I understand that these wont be released till about June/July - how far in advance is the best time to book?

Also we are getting married at the Little Chapel of the Flowers so not part of a package (wish it was would be a lot easier!)

I suppose I am just trying to give my family and friends as much notice and advice as possible, as I cant do everything and they will have to book their hotels and flights etc!!!!

Does anyone have any views on the Venetian and TI - what are good prices to pay for rooms there? Never been to Vegas before!!!

Thanks for all your help :)

If you gave a bit more detail in terms of where you are flying from, dates you are looking at, how long you would be staying, we could probably give you a better idea.

if you are flying from London and staying a week or less I don't think that's a particularly good price for that hotel but your exact dates and departure airport may change that opinion. I don't even know where the Hotel Hacienda Del Sol and so it rather scares me. :) Actually, if you mean the Hacienda Hotel - I think it was imploded about 10 years ago.

As for whether I would recommend Las Vegas as a sutiable place for four young, single guys looking for fun and plenty of nightlife? Never having been a young guy, perhaps I should not comment...however, I would think Vegas is THE most suitable place for four young, single guys looking for fun and plenty of nightlife. :)

    Thank you for your reply.
Were flying from Glasgow for 7 nights. Depature date 20th july or any other date upto the 30th August.
Do you think we got a good price?

Mytravel has no availbilty for these dates from Glasgow and indivdual flights seem to come in around £600 , so you might be on to a deal. who are the flights with ect ??

if your going Nightclubbing ( which i never do by the way :o ) i have heard the nightclub pass from https://www.vegas.com is a worthwhile investment espically for que hopping / cutting .

    http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/index.html

i was under the impression that one pass covers a wide range ( but not all ) clubs. however it is listed seperatly per club on above link  , so may be worth ordering over phone for exact details ect.

Congrats on your booking Bazlovejoy ..sorry to hear Mytravel was not available for 2  .Are you still going to see ricky Hatton fight ??? here is a Strat photo i took to say have loads of fun and a great holiday :D:D:D

as for the advance bookers for next year .. you have time to try and get some free airmiles from credit cards under your belt if you start soon. as mentioned in post #14. here is thread again that expalins the stooze.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=281770&page=2

also see main MSE site under credit card freebies.

you will need a least 25000 miles for a Half miles Half cash deal... see this table

    http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/src/html/diamondclubhowtospendmiles.html

and they are limted per flight how diamond club miles seats are allocated , so the eariler you can book for your choosen date the better. (am i right in thinking 321 days out for flights to appear ??? if anyone knows please post). but you have BMI from Manchester and Virgin out of Gatwick to try and bag a seat on

i very much doubt you could get 2 card applications @ 20,000 miles per card application in, in time. but if you could amass the extra 5000, from £5K of any retail spending you may be doing ,it could be on.

i have bagged 2 flights to Boston in Late sept doing this for £250 each ( although i had to flexiable and accept different departure and return airports in UK as my Dates were fixed !!). still better than the £600 -£700 i was always getting quoted ( prime leaf fall and weekend dates is why me thinks  !!).

other wise keep your eyes peeled for a Virgin Sale . i suggest you download the "skinner" program to your PC direct from Virgin Atlantics own web site. that way you will be notified on your desktop when a sale is annouced. there will definatly be a Jan sale again i would think , and probably one before end of year. but don,t hold me to that

    here is link.

    http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/virginatlanticalerts.jsp

now the Bad news. !! July was £600+ in the 2007 Jan sale   . prime school holiday time i guess. keep a close tab on what happens to flights for this July as good Barometer IMO also keep and eye on https://www.maxjet.com as £300 one way flights have been appearing ( buisness class remember .. and .Virgin is nothing special i assure you )
i also note from the maxjet website that they are now running 3 times a week up from 2 so may futher push prices down.

Book early or book late as Martin says on main site seems to be a general rule. as has already been said it is game of holding your nerves with late bookings .. and a risk you might not get any better deals.

bottom row on top of posting window ( the window that appears with fonts and sizes ect when you click " post repy"). 14th one across between envolpe and paper icon .................and ..........speech blurb icon......looks like a mountain photo and is under the 2 curly downward arrows

holding your cursor over it should make its description appear, left click it delete the HTTP // in the box in new window or it won,t work when you paste your my space photo URL as that has HTTP already in it

    alternatively copy and paste this

    [IMG][/IMG]

and then paste your URL form the "my space" pic between the [IMG][/IMG]

    example ................................my space picture.jpg
