it's a little early for deals on flights next november. Having said that, I'd be surprised if you could get a Virgin flight for less than £350 so it's probably not a bad deal.Timmay!0

Hi, we got back from our first holiday to Las Vegas earlier this week and we are looking at booking up to go again next year cos we loved it so much!!
However, we are looking at flying direct this time. I have found that Virgin do direct flights from London and this seems to be the only one from London. So I have searched and the lowest price I can find for Nov 08 is about £433.40 each return. I thought this sounded pretty good for a direct flight... or not?? Do these prices tend to stay pretty constant or is it worth waiting to see if they have a sale?
It's probably worth waiting a bit in case of a sale as it is quite a long way off, but that's not a bad price. If you have flown with Virgin before and have at least 2000 miles each check the miles+money fares as they are normally just around the £300 mark - or a little more or a little less. However, if there are two of you flying, if you book now, you may have a good chance to get the coveted pairs of seats at the back of the plane - we booked last December for this November and got them. Nice as you don't have to worry about the random stranger in the 3rd seat though some dislike being at the back of the plane and the back of the immigration queue. For us, 10+ hours of relative comfort is worth an extra 30 minutes in the queue.
Good choice on going direct, btw. We won't go any other way anymore - not worth us to save £100 or so by making a connection and taking 20+ to get there!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Just had a look at the Thomas Cook prices, £129 per person inc. taxes. But look at the extra luggage price, standard allowance is 15 Kg. if you want an extra 5Kg for your ENTIRE party, it will set you back another £50!!!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

I was then planning to book our hotel seperately, either direct with the hotel or through an online site, whichever works out cheapest. Does anyone have any other advice?
Miles plus money fare brings it down to £335 altho you cant get back after the 13th at the moment (to early), if you dont have any miles £35 will buy you enough for a flight. altho their terms and conditions may have changed, others on here have still done it that way.0 -

We normally go the first week in November, but later in the month is usually quite slow in Vegas so you should get some good rates on hotels 8-12 weeks before you go.
Be aware that Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November and Vegas should be busy then with higher rates on that date although they should be much less either side.
Monitor Fat Wallet to see what kind of rates you could get. The main offers are updated on Page 1, but I tend to keep an eye on the last page to see promos as they are posted. You could check back a few pages to see what the rates were for this November.
THIS SITE and THIS SITE are another couple to try although I forgot to check them and tend to use Fat Wallet the most.
Remember that weekend rates are more than double the weekday rates.0 -

It's the 4th Thursday of November and the after Thanksgiving-sales are worth it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I keep meaning to post this but i kept forgetting! :rotfl:
My brother and his wife were in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and they highly recommended South Point Hotel and Casino, its about 2 miles past Mandalay Bay so its great of you want off-strip (although i cant understand why you would!) and he said its really newly built and most importantly - cheap. They stayed there for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. And they do breakfast of steak, eggs and hash browns for $4 or $5, i cant remember.Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

It does look nice in the photos of the rooms and looks great from the outside.
BUT like you say it is way past Mandaly bay (I thought more than 2 miles) with nothing in between, even with a car I dont think it would be on my short list.0 -
I personally wouldnt want to stay so far out but people with children, etc might find it handy. I had never even heard of it until last week! :rotfl:Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!
