i was particually intrested in the thread in which a guy got a room at the Alladin for $99 a night from a site called https://www.hotwire.com looks similar too priceline (maybe same site with differnent skin) . anyone know if it accepts UK bookings ect. i like the way it tells you where your unknown hotel is situated as you can narrow it down to what is in that area.

Priceline is a great site click 'name your own price' to get stared. It is a different company to hotwire, but the method is the same.

If you use these sites in tandem with a site like https://www.betterbidding.com you can get a good idea on what hotel you'll likely get and the price you should be bidding on.

e.g. 5* in Las Vegas turns out to be the Venetian on the Strip. A room there can be won on Priceline for as little as $99 a night!

Having no luck in beating American Airlines indirect or Virgin direct as already posted at the mo .

£300-£325 per person seems to be rock bottom for May at this time..

No offers in any Saturday Travel supplements that i got today either. bookings must be good. all sales end around 23rd Jan so will be intresting to what happens then

also i draw your attention to this CC thread, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=281770

whoever you go with make sure you are registered for the Frequent flyer club and grab the Airmiles for future money saving. got my flights to Boston Booked last week With the BMI deal saving me around £700 on 2 tickets at current prices for peak season Fall in New England.

    keeping them peeled here ;)

    http://www.southalltravel.co.uk/newoffer/usa/index.aspx

have a offer on for £449 with flights out of Heathrow via Chicago for 5 nights for stays upto 25th of Feb. i called the phone line and was told this offer also applies for the whole of November. however nothing on the website about it  . if your calling say you saw the offer in the Sunday Times.

You will unsurprised to learn that the hotel in this offer is CIRCUS CIRCUS. i am not getting into a debate (on this thread at least ) about the merits or lack of them with the place , but i will just say whatever happens i won,t be staying there. i enquired about a upgrade and picked the Alladin as a tester to be quoted £175 extra. not great but at least we have a benchmark agaisnt other offers.

has anyone stayed at the imperial palace?

At the moment it is the same price as the Strat but it is centre of the strip.
Out of the two which would you go for?

    I've stayed at both.
Personally I'd choose the Stratosphere. The rooms are much more up to date, slightly bigger, and the casino is nicer there too.
IP is in a bteer location though!
If you have a car, Stratosphere is the best option as that way the location does not make too much difference and parking at the Strat is nice and easy.

Hate to confuse but Id go for Imperial Palace (stayed there and the Strat)
Srat is nicer Hotel (just) but Imp Palace is in a much much better location. The area around the Strat is pretty grim and its at the wrong end of the Strip.

Only thing with Imperial Palace is not very kid friendly.

    thanks people....
ok, the distance of the strat does`nt bother us,my lady and me are both young and fit (ish) and any way hopefully the hotel will be just a place for some shuteye, don`t want to spend a lot of time there.from reading reviews it seems the strat gets the nod due to it being a newer building.
Were` on a bit of a budget as well and the room per night difference is nearly 20dollars.price at the strat is going down...
but not going till end of april so hopefully can catch a deal somewhere really good!!!!

I to have stayed at both and like others prefer the strat but not for location.

You say you are young and fit but do you realise how far from the central strip the strat is, It doesnt bother me because I always have a car, but like others have said the area around the strat is not great.

If you are thinking of walking and visiting other hotels/casinos along the way be prepared for some very tired feet.

Just as an example of how big the hotels are and the distance between, The MGM has over 5000 rooms and I was told by an employee that it can be close to a mile from a back room to the the strip exit.
