29/8/07 - 12/9/07 - Hotel Terrible
Holiday cost £747 per person for 2 weeks, prices include flights, hotel, insurance etc....
If you could get a flight for around £300 ( dont know if you can in August) then the terribles hotel is widely available at $40 a night, maybe £20 if the dollar keeps going the way it is so for 14 night £280 or a little more but quite a saving on £747.
You may know where terribles, is but if you dont it is a couple of blocks ( a very long walk ) from the strip quite close to the hard rock hotel0 -
Flights in late August to Vegas are a lot lower than the peak summer month flight costs and £300 round about what we paid to fly with Virgin in August 2005. What would knock the cost up is that Labor Day Holiday is first week of September and its one holiday that really jacks the prices up in Vegas.0

Hi
Funny I am trying to go there in the middle of April this year, so far best price I have found has been £291 with United Airlines.
As for your hotels, you might want to trying booking direct, not sure where you got the $50 a night at Strat as on their website in April it is as cheap as $28 per night
Try the LasVegashotel website available on the google web search site.
Yes, Strat is the top of the Strip, you can stay at the other end at either the Excalibur or Luxor for the same price if you catch as good deal on their website, ring also, the hotel will haggle the price if you are staying more than 2 nights.
IP is middle of the strip a bit back, and definetly not for families, however if you dont mind staying off the strip try the basic Motel 6 or Bestwestern, holiday inn. There are over a million rooms in Vegas just depends what you are there for to hang out on the Strip or have a look around.
I would definetly recommend 'The Top of World' restaurant at the top of Stratesphere, you get a 360 view whilst dining and it is not particulary expensive.

Myself and the wife went on the 18th-24th Dec with expedia it was £598 each so maybe worth checking out, we stayed at Treasure Island.
Can I just say to anyone going to Vegas If you just see one show while over there make sure it's Le Reve` at Wynn. Absolutly stunning.I'll get me coat!0 -

a link for everyone to Bookmark for when you come to search for a hotel.
https://www.travelaxe.com is a really cool price comparison tool that runs as a seperate program on your computer and compares real time Hotel prices from loads of different sites. need to register and verify E- mail ( FREE of course) . does not check Hotels own website though so makesure you do, to see if it can beat a price.
a dates and hotel already mentioned
Bazlovejoys dates of 1st May till 7th i got a price of $385 at the Stratosphere compared to $490 best he has found so far. that might be able to be beat but the more tools you have the better your chance of getting the best price.
