re American...they also seem to have £284 from London or Manchester on the following dates:

    1st Feb to 28th March
    6th April to 30th April
    1st November to 9th December

Though obviously would be with connections and not sure when the sale will end.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

sale ends Feb 6th and via Chicago for a flight time of 14+ hours . 10 hours killed me on way home last time. so if Virgin or BMI are marginally cheaper may book with them.

if anyone is even considering a booking with American Airlines be sure to sign up for AA advantage frequent flyer club for FREE and collect miles for your flight..

something for nothing is always worth it.

p.s is anyone else having trouble with Virgin Atlantic's site and Cookies ???
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Trets...agree wholeheartedly on the direct flights thing...took us 22 hours once Gatwick to Vegas hotel with a connection on Continental. Never, ever, ever again...but i know some folks want to go as cheap as possible even if it means a longer journe.

Some folks also don't really have a choice though. If you don't live near the big airports, you either have to fly to one of them which adds 4 hours or so onto the journey, or find another method to get there, eg drive, and incur that cost too.
Sometimes, although it takes longer, it is a lot easier to get connecting flights.

BTW, I wish it was cheaper!!!

That is a fair point! I guess I was thinking more the folks who fly from one of the London airports with a connection in a city in the US because it's less expensive...I can see the point if money is the primary concern...just that the added time and hassle is worth quite a bit to us...I think we said a few years ago that flying direct would be worth at least £200 each over flying with a connection...but that's just us...all that extra time when Vegas is waiting just isn't worth a little bit of savings. ;)

  • The first flight isnt direct, the following 2 are...

direct flights (for multi-flights) are really very very expensive

I did think it was quite cheap... why is it not so??

Lola...I see what you're doing (having a stop-off in NYC on the way back for a few days).

Check the Continental website directly as I think that your intinerary is a bit cheaper there - £369.90...but there are also a number of other flights to choose from on the same days and it appears for the same money and some may be better times for you (leaving Vegas at 6:45 am does not sound ideal to me). :)

Personally, I think that is a good fare because as you said - the multi-city stops can be expensive...but as it's all on Continental, it's not too bad in this case.
