Less than a minute on Fatwallet through up $1593 and that was just the first promo I tried..
Are you sure that that's for all 9 nights though? That's exactly the amount I get for the first 7 nights...an extra $448 for the last two...so $2041 for the lot which isn't too far off his original quote...HET properties won't let you book more than 7 nights at a time unless you make separate reservations or call...bit of a pain that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
i need 1 room for 4 adults at the ballys from the 28th december to the 6th jan 2008.
The price of the website is £1,047.25
surely i can get it cheaper than that?
any other good hotel deals around the mid strip?
New Year's Eve is pretty much the most expensive time in Vegas...add that to the fact that you have a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night stay before NYE...and a Friday and Saturday night after..AND that second weekend immediately preceeds one of the biggest conventions of the year (and therefore loads of people will arrive the weekend before)...AND the fact that you have 4 people in the room so will pay a nightly supplement...it's not going to be an inexpensive time in Vegas.
If the hotel cost is too far out of your range consider staying somewhere less expensive for the first 4 or 5 nights of your stay and move for the last 4 or 5 nights.
About £30/pp per night for this time period doesn't seem overly expensive to me personally.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I often go to terribles for breakfast as there are loads of 2 for 1 buffet vouchers about for it, but I always have a car.
You werent far from Ellis Island there, did you go for the steak special at $4.95 altho it may have gone up to $6.95 but still worth it for a great piece of steak, and drinks are only $1 to go with it.
nope still Number one and $4.95 ( after over 10 years i believe !!!!) in this months Las Vegas Advisors best deals. and they are expanding the dining room to fit in more customers . i am definatly going to try and get and sample it in December. just remember you have to ask for the $4.95 steak special, it is not on the Menu!

The on/off strip debate continues
We stay at the Orleans-yes it's off-strip but before midnight runs a free shuttle back to the hotel so it balances out room cost v transport cost. I'd rather stay there than say the Strat which although a nice hotel is as remote as the Orleans without the benefit of free transportation although the Deuce is fairly cheap if you don't mind waiting for it.
For a first time visitor staying on strip IS nicer-after that I personally think it becomes less important and enjoy getting away from the madness of the strip back to the (comparative) peace of the Orleans. I'd now only stay on strip if there was a really good deal on a nice hotel otherwise I'd rather save my budget for spending but it's all personal choice. To me the Orleans rooms are spacious and clean and I don't need to pay for the "name" value.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

My mum and dad go to Vegas for the first time on Tuesday staying at the MGM Signatare..they asked me to post a few questions...
1. Has anyone done the Grand Canyon Trip from Las Vegas which includes the new Skywalk viewing platform. Any advise on how to go about this..?
2. What is a good midrange priced buffet in the strip area.
3. Is the Hoover Dam trip still worth doing after the restrictions of 9/11 or is a flight over the best option
Thanks - hope you can find the time to reply

2. What is a good midrange priced buffet in the strip area.
The buffet at Planet Hollywood (formerly Aladdin) is the one that is regularly said to be the best in Vegas. Dinner is $25 or so...we really like it...not sure if it qualifies as midrange priced...but many of the dinner buffets are at or near that amount - at least the good ones.
This is a good list of buffets and if you click on each you can read reviews.

We still prefer the strip after 7 trips...maybe one day we'll venture to stay off strip, but even though we have a rental car, we really like being able to walk outside our hotel and be right on the strip with all the other casinos laid out in front of us...as you say, personal preference is everything...then again, as we stay at Bally's it's relatively peaceful compared to a lot of the other strip casinos...so maybe it's the best of both worlds for us.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
