There is a thread on lasvegastalk at the mo saying it has gone up to $6.95...about £3.50 for a steak meal....we arent ripped off in the UK are we?
Looks like reports now indicate that the $6.95 special now includes a drink...so the increase is partly due to that.
Still haven't tried it...one day!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

intresting , LVA usually demotes specials that increase thier prices so it may lose it,s top spot next month.

Someone has recenty posted in the gold/members forum at LVT about paying $700 excess baggage fees on a return MyTravel flight from Vegas...they did a lot of shopping and from what I can see, MT allows 15kg-20kg per passenger checked luggage.
Just may be worth keeping in mind for those who plan to shop and bring back quite a lot (as you do)...Virgin's allowance is 2 bags not more than 23kg each...looks like BMI allow 2 pieces up to 32kg each.
May not impact those who pack light and don't buy much...I know we come back with at least 30kg more than we left with ourselves.
But for those booking MT flights because of the great price, may be worth keeping in mind that the overall cost can go up considerably if you have much luggage. Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

The MyTravel allowance depends on the package you buy. Any time you check their site you will see 3 or 4 basic fly drive pacakages at different prices and maybe wonder why that is. One of the differences is down to baggage allowance.0 -

Thats interesting.
Just add my experience.with Virgin...we were 2 kg over the 23kg with one of our bags when we went out last time, but were let off the excess charge (wont do it again tho)
On the return flight we were made to weigh bags before check in so that if any bag was over we could redistribute ( and we had to) but the good thing is that on return Virgin allow you 25kg per bag0 -
Need some help guys. I'm currently looking at some Grand Canyon Helicopter flights and have followed the recommendations given in post #1005 here.
Anyway I was looking at the helicopter and ranch adventure found on the HeliUSA website http://www.heliusa.com/tour-grand-canyon-helicopter-flight-g09.htm. This costs $384pp including all taxes.
Now i've also looked at other websites and have found the exact same package as the HeliUSA one but for less. Even the photographs show are the exact ones found on the HeliUSA site.
The websites in question are Viator http://www.viator.com/tours/Las-Vegas/Grand-Canyon-Helicopter-and-Ranch-Adventure/d684-3422_G09 , which costs $300pp for my travel dates and Las Vegas Grand Canyon Tours http://www.lasvegasgrandcanyontour.com/helicopter/grand-canyon-ranch-adventure.htm, which costs $285pp.
Will this be the same tour operator where Viator and Las Vegas Gran Canyon tours are just middlemen selling on behalf of the tour operator or do you suspect them to be using someone different?0 -
Anyone driven from Grand Canyon West rim to South rim (or vice versa)?
Is that possible? How long did it take??0 -

Pass. if they are flying out from McCarren they should be trust worthy though. i would ring them and see who they are using for the helicopters ect.
we went with Heliusa and they are very professional .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Just back today, had a great holiday on the whole.
Stayed at the Orleans and got the mardi gras package although I didn't know it was that and at check in they weren't forth coming with the free buffet vouchers, I didn't know about them( got an email on the day I left with all the gen but didn't see it) luckily I spoke to some people from Hull and they mentioned them so went back to reservation and they gave me 4 b/fast and 4 dinner but now I've seen their email I should have had 6 of each grr! still very good deal though.
Got ripped off by the taxi driver from the airport to the Orleans, he took us through departures and then the tunnel, the price was up to $21 at the hotel should have been $12-14, the taxi drivers are out of control in Vegas.
My Travel (shudder) never again, I'm all for a bargain but I'd rather not go to Vegas than use that airline, they must have been in the canned sardine business before moving to air travel. The seats are very uncomfortable and dropping to bits, no padding and packed as tight as possible. They wanted to charge me $200 for excess baggage coming back, managed to empty stuff out to get it down, dropped a clanger by taking a bottle of gin out and putting it in my hand luggage. 15Kg allowance long haul???? they charge $16 for every 1Kg over. Service on board was bad, you aren't allowed to consume your own drinks so have to wait for them to come round every 2 hours or so and then they charge £1.50 for a bottle of water, someone fainted on my flight, I wasn't far off myself.
The Chav has now discovered Vegas, can't believe how many chavs were on that flight. The first time I went to Vegas was brilliant, had a fantastic flight with BMI the staff on board couldn't do enough and the flight was enjyoyable and a main part of our holiday.
On arrival at Vegas in the passport queue a lot of them weren't filling in the green form properly so they made an announcement to check your form, an old lady behind me hadn't done hers properly so I filled it in for her as we meandered through, I noticed from her DOB that she was 73. she was on her own and she hadn't gone to gamble or anything in particular, I've an idea what she was there....;) she had a twinkle in her eye.0 -

You must have been very unlucky then, on the whole I found the taxi drivers very helpfull and reasonably priced.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
