OK, don't normally post on here so go easy with me !

Thought I could answer a few questions regarding the wedding / helicopter tours. We booked with Little Chapel of the Flowers and got married at the Grand Canyon (West) in April. Flights are with Sundance helicopters and we found it very comfortable with a fantastic view of the scenery (Hoover Dam etc.). It's about 40-45 mins each way and I am a nervous flyer so could recommend this. Wedding went very well, no stress at all !

Also, we stayed at MGM Signature and found it very nice indeed. Got upgraded to 1-Bedroom Suite (ask for floor 35 and above) which was great.
Keep reading people moaniing about it being 'too far from the strip'. Little tip, don't walk all the way through MGM Grand (this way takes ages), just walk out the back way on to E Harmon Ave, turn left then you're on the Strip within a few minutes, right by Planet Hollywood, Paris and Bellagio.

Hope this helps a few people !

Well we just got back from Vegas yesterday.
We went to the Grand Canyon

Did you get to walk the "Skywalk" ?

Thanks for all the helicopter information.
Tingtong, Sundance helicopters looks good - did the trip ou took actually land at the Canyon, some seem to just fly over but I'd like to stop and wonder around for a litle bit.
    Cheers

avstar, the Sundance helicopter trip we did landed in the canyon, looking down over the Colorado River, it was amazing. We had to land because that was where we got married and we were there for about 30-40 minutes I think. I believe they do land even on the normal tours though. We’ll probably do the tour again it was that good.

Also, you fly past the Skywalk on the way there and it looks tiny from the helicopter. Makes you realise how vast the Canyon is because the Skywalk feels quite big when you’re actually on it. Could not recommend it enough, would never consider the 9-10 hour bus trip !

I realise this may be a bit of a contrary viewpoint but does anyone else not think getting married in Las Vegas is a bit yesterday ?
Unless,of course, you come from Essex in which case it's the next best thing after Marbella.

Havent done the skywalk (and dont intend to), but it is a lot nearer to Vegas, just a couple of hours as it is on the west rim but it is mega expensive from memory about $100 each.

Apparently you cant take cameras on it.

There was a long thread on it on https://www.lasvegastalk.com

Yes I have and whilst I loved the wonderful tackiness of it all it didn't strike me as being a very original place to get married.
Maybe in the 60's when it was slightly glamorous and hadn't been overrun by fat, elderly Americans spending 24 hours a day feeding money in the slots and mountains of lard down their gullets.
Still, each to their own I suppose.
