  • Try adding plain yoghurt, if you have it.

    You could also try sour cream.

    I have heard that if you add the juice of half a lemon and the juiced fruit half itself and then remove before serving, this also works. I seem to remember that from Trade Secrets.

    Hi, when my daughter moans that ive made chilli too hot i add some grated cheese for her, seems to make her happy but dont know if this actually cools it down. You could try some sour cream if you have any in or some philly type cheese.
  • tinned toms added shoul help calm it down x
    :xmastree::xmassign::rudolf::xmastree:
  • also yoghurt or cream

  • Add some sugar (or a square or two of chocolate) the sugars help break down the heat from the chillies.
    Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
    Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Wow, great replies thank you all. Haven`t any yoghurt or cream but have cheese, tomatoes and dark chocolate (from a box of Heroes):cool: Will try tomatoes and chocolate first and if that does`t cool it will zap it with the cheese.
    Thank

    I used to put baked beans in the children's chilli as this helped take the heat out of it and the beans would be eaten were as the kidney beans wouldn't. :confused:

    I have a block of creamed coconut. I grate some of that into a dish to take some of the heat out.

    I find some red kidney beans cools it down a bit.
