Hi there
Do you have any yoghurt? failing that a dollop of mayo or even cream cheese should calm it down a little and make it creamy
..well thats what i do anyway and i like it

I that hasn't worked try some instant gravy granules! It works for me! You might have to add a little more tomato puree0

I'd throw in a tin of tomatoes in their juices, then reduce or anything creamy I have to hand (yoghurt, sour cream, soft cheese). Best of luck! x0

What about adding tomato puree?
I've also heard from somewhere to add a little sugar (?)
Adding yoghurt (as mentioned above) sounds like a good idea.
Good luck!Girls just want to have funds

If you've over-salted a sauce, gravy, etc, you can add a peeled, raw potato, cut into large chunks to the saucepan. The potato acts as a sponge and absorbs the salt. This could work for something that is spicy, too.Girls just want to have funds

If it's an option (if you've got spare ingredients), freeze half (or more portions) and then add more non-spicy ingredients to what you've got left (ie. tin of toms, veg, beans)0

Hi JailhouseBabe,
There's an earlier thread with lots of advice that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

Thank you all.
Pink-winged - rice was nearly cooked earlier so didn't have time to do a search, thanks for moving.
I added a few tablespoons of mayo in the end. It still had a slight kick but the creamy texture was a nice bonus. I'll try to remember these tips for next time - sugar sounds like it should work.
I love how you can turn to the OS forum in an emegency and know you'll get a help in a hurry.
Thanks again guys :beer:some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it

Hi, I knocked up some chilli con carnie and froze it. After defrosting it tastes much to hot, I overdone the chilli and the cayenne pepper by lots. Is there anyway I can cool it down, I can`t get to the shops as i`m in a wheelchair at the mo so it will have to be with cupboard ingredients. Can`t afford to throw it away so will have to eat it somehow.
Thanks
