Too Hot Chilli

If you peel a potato and put in in to the chilli raw and cook the chilli for a while, the potato will absorb some of the chilli and should reduce the heat.
This also works if you've over salted something.0 -

If definitely does. Personally I'd go with the sugar.0 -
Bung in a blob of marmalade. This takes the spice level down a notch or two.

Good job I didn`t come back on here before I cooked it, I wouldn`t have known where to start
Thanks for all your replies and here`s the result. I used half a tin of tomatoes, one square of dark chocolate and a small sprinkling of sugar, now considering I got muddled up with tsp and tbsp when I made it shows how hot it was. The result was a perfectly edible chilli, nice and hot but not blazing coal embers. I have two portions left in the freezer so will try out some of your other suggestions. Well done and thanks to you all :T

Hope this helps you clutterydrawer and if you try one of the other tips please let me know how you get on0

Hello! The 'capsacin' in chilli pepper is what makes it spicy and it is also fat soluble - so its best to stir in a bit of yoghurt / cream / full fat milk to tone things down x0

Thanks
i've used yogurt before in creamy curries and suchlike but wouldnt fancy it in a chili, so I'll try the chocolate/sugar if i need to

From memory I'm pretty sure this has been asked before about a chilli (maybe a curry) and the OP came back and said what had worked the best out of all the suggestions given.
That's as far as I can help though, can't remember the thread or what item was best.
I'll try having a search, or maybe a board guide or someone else can link for you.
