you could add plain yoghurt either to the chilli or as a side tzaziki style0
-
Try Greek Yoghurt or creme fraische - both have worked for me in the past0

Thank you all. I have some 0% fat yogurt in the fridge so I will use that and see how it goes.
As a reward for your helpfullness, here's the recipe

i would make another batch without the chilli and mix them together - effectively halfing the spice factorPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Hi hootie,
If I've added too much chilli I usually stir in some natural yoghurt or creme fraice and add some tinned tomatoes to try to dilute it.
As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the main thread on over-hot chilli recipes to keep the suggestions together.

It's probably been said before, but I'll have it. I will ensure it doesn't go to waste.Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

Hello there - any ideas of how to take the heat out of the chilli I've just cooked. There's no way the kids will eat it (not entirely sure what possessed me to put so much in it in the first place!) and I'm genuinely uncertain as to whether I could eat it! I hate the idea of throwing it away.0

Dairy! Sour cream, cheese, yoghurt....
I'd be tempted to give them smaller portions that I might usually and serve up more rice with a big dollop of sour cream and tell them to mix it through0 -
Serve it up with less chilli, more rice and some mayo on the top.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

Try bulking it out with a couple of extra tins of tomato, veg, a wee bit of sugar along with the tomatoes. I cook with chillis as both dh and dd love them, but sometimes it's difficult to judge how hot it will be, and I have made it too spicy many times!
This way, you get a couple of extra portions to freeze as well.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
