Plain yoghourt takes the heat out of too hot curry, so I expect it would work for chilli. Stir it through just before serving.

Yes I was going to suggest take the kids portion out, add some toms and cook it down.

This may sound wierd, I think it does but my teenager stirs maynoise :cool: into her curries as she says it cools it down because it is too hot and it makes it taste creamy
Maybe put a little of the chilli in the dish and try it

I was told that adding salt makes it hotter, and adding sugar makes it 'cooler'. Which is why, I guess, the potato works, as it would absorb salt and release sugars in the form of starch. I think...0

plain yoghurt, soured cream, or creme fraiche...any of these will work beautifully. We do it all the time as my DH likes his hotter than I do :-)0
