    Urgh, had a horrible day.

I spent £49.99 on a pair of boots in Clarks. I know Sea was right and I didn't need to spend that much. I even saw a quite similar pair for £20 straight afterwards. But I persuaded myself they looked cheap and plasticky.

I spent hours running about in and out of town, trying to achieve hundreds of things and being thwarted at every turn, spent two hours in hospital with DS, who has had a high temperature coming and going for a week and is coughing up blood - but is desperate to go to his friend's party tomorrow.

Then got caught up in a horrible row between my parents, who have a bad relationship and sometimes I get used as a pawn.

OH is really grumpy about lots of things and gone into his full-on passive aggressive mode. He's making me feel really bad about going to see my friend in Somerset on Weds, which I booked ages ago, as he has been asked to go into work and on an evening jolly that day. I do feel bad, but it's all arranged and a friend has taken a day off work for it.

    No housework done.

One bright star on the horizon - my dad and I are going up to Suffolk on Thursday night. We have to attend a funeral on Friday morning and dad didn't fancy the long drive early, so said he'd pay for a hotel. So I've booked us into the Eels Foot Inn at Eastbridge, where they have live folk music on Thursday nights (I know, I know, not my usual thing either). I'm so excited about a night away! Even with my dad.

Friday morning before the funeral will go for a long walk over the heath to the sea (weather permitting) my very favourite activity.

In view of the new 'mature/bare all' approach to debt I'm wondering whether to talk to my dad about it. He may be able to see a solution or even (I have no grounds for thinking this) want to help.

Anyway, 9.45 now and I have to write 1200 words about corporate lobbying of the EU - AAARGH! - before bed.

I wish I could write short snappy posts like everyone else!

Sorry that you have had a bad day - sending you dodgy 3some hugs....;)

Is DS ok? Have they managed to stop the coughing up blood - that is pretty nasty.

And as for other family stuff.....grrr! Although nice to be able to get away for a bit, even if it is for a funeral. A night in a hotel.....someone to clear up after you.....make the bed for you......clean the sink for you.....etc:D

And housework.....sorry......I don't recall any sort of challenge, do you

DS is OK thanks. Diagnosis was an upper respiratory tract infection and the blood is coming from his throat, not his lungs. Which is good, apparently. We have a prescription for antibiotics but they said to wait 24 hours and see if it clears up before starting the course.

Housework... would really really like to get the dining room sorted, especially as DD2 said today that the state of our house "makes her feel sad". But OH not going to move his carp in his current mood.

I won't be getting any housework done tomorrow, but because I have not got a start date through for the new job, it looks like I can devote next week to getting organised.......

I am starting to scare myself.

hypno, you're in an ideal situation. You know the job will start before long, and at that point your debt will start seriously reducing. But until then - well you can't book anything in case the job starts, so you have time for housework. And MSE.

Hugs Seaxwyn - I don't think the £49.99 are too bad - and they will be comfy and last you a long time! Make sure you keep polishing them ;)

I am terrible - instead of thinking - oh dear a funeral, I immediately though - well I hope she booked that hotel through a cashback site. How bad am I?!!

Glad DS seems a bit better - hope antibs kick in swiftly.

With regards to DD's comment - introduce her to the house fairy and then she can take control of her bits? Remember you are doing fabulously in a difficult situation and don't make yourself feel guilty about things beyond your immediate control.

Sorry to hear about OH. Nothing I can really say about that one - we're with them, we deal with them and they frustrate us to an unbelievable degree!!

Could you perhaps move his crap to his shed? At least then it would be an immediate improvement - or perhaps do what he did and just sling it all in the garden ;)
