I think a present for mum is almost more important than one for the baby. EVERYONE buys baby gifts, but the poor woman who has been through agony and is shattered, emotionally and physically gets nowt!!

Hope you have a good day x

I met my target and I'm feeling really really chuffed.

This total won't reduce much for a while now as I have a tax bill in Jan and then car tax and insurance in Feb. And I will be concentrating on saving for July's tax bill more than paying off debts.

Well, I'm probably not the best to advise on boots as I tend to go for very cheap ones - like £15 or less - some with major heels, some quite nice and flat too. I go to those priceless shoe shops. I then get them reheeled quite regularly, or a pair I got in the sale for £30 I got resoled and they've lasted me 4 years.

Wow. Whatever shoes I buy they wear down really quickly and are so battered in 6 months they are unheelable. I think I have a funny gait or something.

That is a fantastic achievement and you should be soooooo proud of yourself :T

I have just, over the last 2/3 days read this entire thread and it's had me gripped I tell you :rotfl:

    You've done amazingly well :D

As said above, what a difference a year makes.

All the very best and here's to the next 12 months of debt busting

    Thanks hypno and Scarlett

And Scarlett - wow! you read the whole thread - I don't know whether to feel touched or embarrassed!

I am really pleased. When I started this thread in January I really had no idea if we were going to go under. Now I feel confident that we can at least keep a roof over our heads.

I regret that we didn't get to grips with our debts sooner as I feel we should be saving for our children's education and our own pensions etc.

But it's good to share the journey with so many nice people, that's for sure.

  • Well, I was a bit bored a couple of days ago and decided to give one of the big diaries a go :o Yours stood out to me because of the title - "simply not solvent", it's a comment that was made to me when I did my SOA a couple of months ago :o

I'm glad I read it, it was like a soap opera (in a good way!), I couldn't wait to read the next page/day/week to see how you were getting on :D
