  • I too have always assumed Clapton is a he! I imagine him as quite stern, a bit like a headmaster, but very fair and kind. And I think he looks like Stephen Fry.

I also think I have given this too much thought and am clearly spending FAR too much time on here .......!

The news shop job sounds good - bit like my bar job, doesn't interfere but adds up and is very handy when I get paid from it each month. Also is quite sociable so makes me feel like I have a social life :rotfl:

I hope you manage to reach a suitable arrangement. Will help in the next phase of the debt busting/tax collecting for sure!

HI all..Clapton was the first one to respond to me and funnily enough I presumed Clapton was a man.He pointed out a lot of things to me about my budget as I'm SE it isn't straight forward as all us SE know...but it was all very very good advice and let me see things in a whole new perspective.
The new job sounds interesting and will be great if it fits in with your other plans and will help you enormously...have you set a new challenge yet for next year?
  • I think Rita is still around.... I haven't watched it for ages either... too busy on here!

Yes Clapton is always on hand giving newbies really helpful and sensible advice (and frightening them where necessary). I sometimes wonder why people give up so much time to help strangers without asking for anything in return. Perhaps he/she is a dedicated debt counsellor. I don't know why I assumed Clapton was a he.

    I don't think he is...but I really admire him!!

  • Congratulations, Seaxwyn. What an amazing achievement! :j Now you know you can do it, there'll be no stopping you on your debt-free journey. Bask in the warm glow of success as long as you can, but don't let the euphoria entice you into spending any unneccessary money:rotfl:

Congrats too to the other challengees(was it taxi and hypno?) as you've done wonders too:beer: .

Morning everyone - and thanks Impomdasp. OliveOyl was in the 35k challenge too.

Hello Sea, I've got a busy day with various errands, a bit of paid work, plus tidying the dining room for hypno's housework challenge. That's a tough one as OH is storing some large unwanted items here so he'll have to choose between dump or shed. And I agreed to deliver 400 leaflets for the local Green party candidate (who's a friend).

Tomorrow we have a family get together for my dad's family which will take up most of the day. I want to make up some cards for all his siblings and cousins with a picture and brief details of a family member who died in the Somme (the picture and army records have only come to light this year). I know people would really like to see this so I should try and get something sorted.

I'd better not get stuck on here as I have a lot to do so will have a quick look at a few threads and get tidying.

Well that was a longer answer than you probably wanted! What have you got planned for the weekend Sea?
