Hi Seax
Was a bit worried when I hadn't seen your post for a while. But have now realised that you are either still on holdiday, or doing the post holiday panic, ie washing, getting children ready for school etc so hope it all went ok
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hello Chev, how nice to be missed!
We had a lovely holiday, really relaxed and chilled, I enjoyed every minute.
Among all the other good things, I read a lovely book, Wildwood by Roger Deakin (highly recommended) and went to the Eden Project (ditto). Both in different ways reminded me how much life has to offer.
I've got so stressed about money this year I've got things a bit out of proportion. Yes I have big debts and yes it will take me years to pay them, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy what this beautiful world has to offer meanwhile. I need to stay focussed on reducing debt but I'm not going to let it dominate my life any more.
And I'm going to drop the anger and resentment towards OH as it is corroding my soul. So he hasn't got any money this month and I have to pay all the bills? It's not the end of the world.
Blimey, I must have lingered under the Bo tree in the Eden Project too long.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hi Seaxwyn...welcome back and you sound so much more chilled out!!!!...it's hard to get a balance in life between debt, work and enjoyment isn't it?
I'm so glad you enjoyed the break it was obviously what you needed and you're doing great with the debt ...you are the leader so far!!!...so something else to be proud of...0 -
You definitely sound "glass half full". In fact, the glass looks as though it is heading towards two thirdsSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Morning all! Thanks for the message babybug, you must have some stamina!
My 'glass half full' attitude is holding up. It's had a big boost in the last couple of days as I've been invited on two weekends away, one at a posh spa hotel by the sea in Wales (competition win for a friend) and one walking in Exmoor. Both are free for me - accommodation anyway, I have to get there and pay for some food but have stressed the budget issues.
So lucky me! I'm really looking forward to both.
Workwise things are good if a bit full-on. My four main clients alll continue to give me more than enough work, I've got to review what I've committed to and put it all in a diary as I'm a bit concerned I've promised to do more than I can. Oh well, it usually works OK.
OH is going to a 'staff development day' later this month at the art school where he's doing sessional lecturing. That sounds promising (as he isn't really staff).
Oops, time to walk to school.... must go.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Stamina is about right! I'm currently working my way through hypno's diary, which is taking some time! Just want to say that I am really glad I found this site, and the friendly people on it. Reading the debt diaries like yours makes me feel less alone.Nobody I'd rather be0

Hi Seaxwyn, just finished reading your diary after 3 days off and on at work (my work is very dull!) and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it and how well you're doing with your debt. I know how hard it is when an OH won't do the things he's meant to and it puts so much more pressure on you and can also be quite a lonely feeling. So just to say all us DFWs are here for you and carry on posting because we enjoy reading! What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!

NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!0
