Oh do I so know that scenario - coming in from somewhere to tell the children off then disappearing again! Only for my OH it is his computer room, so it is still in the house. But actually being in there with them - sigh!
Like this Sunday I HAVE to finish my last essay, as OH is going away on a course next week and it is due on Wednesday. But I doubt I will be able to concentrate very well unless he is more involved with them! Still he does try and he works hard monday to friday, so it is not surprising that he doesn't feel like doing much on the weekends. And I could be doing this course and working too and looking after the children, so I guess I am in a better situation than others doing OU courses!
Good luck on today. Off to take older son to footie club.

Good luck with that essay - I hope you get some time to do it.
I do find it comforting to know how many people are struggling with similar situations. My OH is good with the children when he does engage with them - he is just distracted most of the time and I recognise that's probably a symptom of depression, in which case he is functioning quite well.
I am so looking forward to him having a regular job to get him up in the morning and give him something to focus on and stimulating company. I think all our lives will be a lot easier.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Not thought of getting those wrist things - and tying OH and children together."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Hi Seaxwyn...just sending you a hugxxx...sorry that you seem up against it all the time...I know how you feel trying to balance work, housework and children(especially in the school holidays)...
The tax issue is always a burden and its easy for someone to say just put it away but things are always cropping up!!!...I myself have got to make a conscious effort to put mine away otherwise the debt cycle starts again. This gets me every year as I always think I have more money than I have.I'm going to put £100 p/w away before paying bills and this may make my budget a little more realistic.
Good luck with your workload xx0 -

ref the tax. How about just putting £2 in a jar (hidden from OH?), so that you will have still saved something towards it (as long as you can be disciplined and not 'borrow' from it!), even if it is not the whole amount. That way you know you are doing something, so might make it less stressful?
