Glad that you feel a bit brighter this morning. I find it difficult to sometimes put a value on my time - so I know how you feel. However, when you are faced with a million and one other things too it is even harder!
So, one step at a time. Plus the footy season goes on til May, so perhaps when you are less stressed out you can give it a go. It is not that bad once you get into it. honest!
I hope you have a good day, as you say - the sun is shining, and that is good in itself (except for my kids who will be skiing in the heat of the day!!!).Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. hey seaxwyn, sorry i missed your bad day yesterday hon, what with you always being really supportive to me i feel quite bad.
I'm glad that you are feeling brighter today and hope that continues, re the quote "with lots of big responsibilities it's quite stressing me out" I am completely with you on that one, work can sometimes get us like that i think however that you have to compartmentalise it within your head and not let it take over the work/life balance. yes, it's hard work, yes it's stressful, and when you need to just take a step back, make a cup of tea and listen to some relaxing music for 5 minutes, then come back to it when feeling less stressed.
Joking apart re the ski club, do you have anywhere that you can go with wireless access ie the library? a cafe? where you can just park yourself, leave OH and sprogs indoors and focus on it with no distractions?
I was sad to read about you undervaluing your work and therefore undercharging from what your worth, You are as worthy of that money as anyone else out there that does your job! you are as good as them and as capable, therefore you DESERVE IT TO! I go through phases where my confidence is shot to pieces but that is just our mind set, not the reality of it.
You go girl, get that work done! i'll race you to the finish if you like got shed loads on today, and start loving yourself!
remember the man who moved a mountain started off with small stones.
you are worth it!!

Hooray!! The insurance money has arrived in OH's account so we can finish paying the decorator and also eat for the rest of August.
Hooray!! OH has taken the children out. (But for how long.... have they just popped out for teabags or do I get a whole child-free morning?)
Hooray!! Decorator has turned off Radio One, it's been doing my head in.
Feeling better...... just need to get some work done and I'll be on top of the world.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Good news about the insurance money - one less thing for you to stress about today!
And you can eat in August too - bonus!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
The decorator has finished and gone. So we have two lovely fresh clean rooms, a window that opens that never did before, and a new pane of glass in the front door replacing one that has been cracked ever since DS whacked it with a coffee pot at least two years ago. All at a total cost to us of £387.
Our household insurance is up for renewal this month, so I've tasked OH with shopping around. Will the fact that we have just claimed mean that premiums go up?
I've had a good day, got a substantial amount of work done and feel a tad less stressed. Tomorrow we are going to stay with my sister, which should be fun and also money-saving as she and her husband have a humungous vegetable garden so if we play our cards right we will be given lots of lovely produce to bring home with us.
Still a lot of work to get through before we go though.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Something amazing has happened.
OH got up at 6.15 to do the paper round with the DDs - to learn the route so he can do it when the kids and I are away this weekend.
As he is never normally up before 10am I had told the newsagent we couldn't do it, but OH decided to earn the £10 as it was the only opportunity to earn anything within his grasp.
And then he bought a local paper and is currently reading the job ads.
Oh happy day!
I'm going to assemble a pile of ebayable stuff so he can photograph it while the mood lasts.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Good Morning,
It must be a relief that the insurance money has arrived safely.
It sounds like today has started off well with your OH too. Hope there are some good jobs in the newspaper.
Hope the rest of the day is just as good.0 -
10am waking up:eek: , gosh I wish. With my two he would have no chance of lieing that long. But it is also unfair on you for him to not be getting up with the children. Whilst they are having breakfast with him, you could get an hours work done if you played your cards right. Getting up that late will also NOT stand him in good stead when he has to do his teaching in October. Wasting half the day that is.
Okay Okay, I AM JEALOUS! I haven't had a lie in like that since the children were born. Even when they try really hard, the sitting room/play room is under our bedroom and there is inevitable a fight, which wakes me up!
So well done Mr Seax for getting out of bed and doing the round. Hope he did do some ebaying!
Just a quick question have you sat down and discussed this with him rather than nagged at him? Explained how stressed you are and that you need x days, to break the back of the work. And can he sort the children out for those x days so that you can do the work (of course you have to do the work). Maybe if he knew it was for x days, and you really did crack on, then he would see that his input was valuable, and do it more?
Just a thought
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi Chev
Right on sister, I'm jealous too!! - he could sleep through Armageddon I assure you. I never get in a lie-in, but then I'm completely incapable of sleeping after 6 now. Today I COULD have slept in, but I woke up at 6 as usual and instead of getting up I had a blissful hour in bed reading a book.
OH is a complicated case. I have discussed with him many times how much work I have to do and he fully understands how necessary it is. He just has a huge mental block about all sorts of things. And his idea of looking after the children while I work is to come in from the shed about once an hour and say "I told you not to bother mummy!" then go out again.
Anyway, I don't want to be angry today as it's a beautiful day, and despite everything I've got a lot of work done this week and I'm going away tonight for a lovely relaxing weekend at my sister's. So lots to feel happy about.
