Best wishes for the strength to keep on keeping on with lots of hugs and support from the rest of us. I hope the mess of the reworked text gets straightened out sooner rather than later without major fallout on either side.
There are times it would definitely feel better not to have to carry it all and to have the help you deserve from OH but there is a glimmer of light for the shed - or did I misread something.
I empathise totally with the too much to pay too little to pay with syndrome but just keep in mind - it's only money. This doesn't men don't do the necessary work but you can only do as much as you can do.LBM August 2005 £40,000

Things really are coming at you from all directions at the moment. I wish I could say something that would put the insurance money in the bank, rework articles without problems and shine OH's lightbulb a bit brighter.
All I can do though is to say "keep going". Dig deep into your inner resources and you will somehow find the energy and the strength to get through.
I hope tomorrow is a better day! Perhaps we should have a challenge - the first one to have a week of good news!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
A good news challenge! I like that idea! Let's race each other to have a bit of dfw-related good luck.
I feel a bit better, having been running. The plagiarism thing isn't as bad as it sounds (I hope). I don't think there will be major repercussions. But it's embarrassing to have to own up to my client. I just hope it doesn't undermine my client's confidence in me as they recently promised lots more work in the autumn.
Anyway, thinking it over has reminded me what I already know, that I need to get a grip and give better energy to my work. I am always working and therefore too drained or distracted to give every job my full attention. My computer goes on before 7am and is on til nearly midnight and most of that time I'm sitting at it 'working' in one form or another.
So I resolve to print out a calendar for August and divide the time up into working and non-working time, and stick to it. Well I'll print it as soon as my connection to the printer is restored....Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
"work/life balance" - something we all aspire to, but don't find it easy to come by.
Good luck with getting a workable schedule sorted - hopefully you can take some of the stress away from yourself xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
:grouphug: to you.
You seem to have having a really crap day...
Don't worry, I'm sure everything will come right in the end.
But why don't you have the house and OH and the Kids have the shed?
Sell it as some great adventure.
You can do it! I have faith in your selling abilities..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I've updated my sig since it's a new month.
My debt has increased by £487.77 since 1st July - but as I've paid £800 tax and £500 to a decorator this month, I'm not too upset about that.
August also will be a lean month and I don't expect any debt-busting miracles. But I'm not going to stress about that. I will just do what I can.
In August we're going for a long weekend at my sister's and then a week in Cornwall, I'm looking forward to the breaks. Recharging our batteries is more important than money this month.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
My signature too needs to be updated and will also be showing an increase due to the laptop fiasco
However, I am fairly sure you will be winning the race to £35000 - I was hoping for my bank charge money back this month, but now that is not meant to be I am going to be a long way off! Need to get my thinking hat on
August will be lean for us too - although we are not going on holiday now, we will still be doing "stuff" with the kids so that will involve spending money one way or another.
We will get through though. I hope your "workspace" is coming along nicely today xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I think I have something for the good news challenge.
I think my tax credits are going up by £39 a month.
I'm not totally sure about this as I can't get my head round the letter, but that's what it seems to say.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well that is pretty good news! All my post brought me was notification that my loan rate has gone up slightly
