  • Have a good time at your sister's house.

I definitely think you should charge more. It does take a bit of confidence to charge more, but fortune favours the bold and I think you might be surprised at how many clients say yes to your new increased charges. Let's face it, they are probably getting a bargain at the moment! When you get back think seriously about it. You are worth it.

Thanks folks. Definitely tax is my big downfall. But my current plan is to get my Sainsburys CC and A&L overdraft down to zero before I start saving. It just feels counter-productive to be saving anything, even £2 coins, while paying interest.

    HI hypno and sea

Yes thanks, we had a lovely time. We had a pedalo race up the Thames, went on several walks, had a barbeque and watched Star Wars (the first time for my kids and the first for me since 1977).

We've come home with bags of garden produce so shouldn't have to buy any veg for a week.

Best thing of all.... we're going back there next weekend as well.

My sister and brother in law have an enviable lifestyle. Very frugal people, they are mortgage-free and both work part-time. They definitely have the work-life balance thing cracked and I feel the stress evaporate just walking through the door.

It came back in spades as I read my emails this evening though. Next week is a busy one for me with jobs for my three main clients all peaking this week.

Sea - very glad to read you didn't do a cinderella but stayed and had a good time too.

Well, hopefully it has provided you with the energy to get cracking with the work this coming week. And to be able to go back next weekend really gives you something to work towards.

And (yes I know you should not start sentances with AND, and I have done it twice in this post) use it as long term motivation. Every bill you get out, every piece of work you get done, every debt payment that is made, is one step forward and closer towards that lifestyle and balance.

Hope you have a relaxing evening though - the work can wait until tomorrow x

    :)

I had a great time:) Am now busy working out how to best recoup that money in a DFW way :)

So glad you had a lovely time - the veg sounds lovely.

Good luck with the work this week - could you have a target for each day? Would this help?

Hey no worries if the saving £2 thing is not for you. Twas just a thought. Sounds like you had a great weekend. You relatives have the sort of life I would like for us to have.

OH and I have been tossing around what we want in our house in New Zealand. We will have to rent for a bit out there before we buy, (I am NOT doing what a friend of mine did which was buy a house over the internet without seeing it first! She was very lucky and it was ok, but could she ever have been had!) but we can still dream of the house we will eventually buy.

Seax I hope you go to bed nice and early tonight, so you are bright eyed and bushy tailed for tomorrow. I have an essay for Wednesday and OH has gone off on a weeks course this evening. Should make for an 'interesting' begining of the week!

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
