So generally more good news coming in than bad! Not a bad start to the day!

    And more good news!

I've just been offered - and accepted - a 2-day-a-week job from September. It's temporary, with the possibility of applying for the permanent post.

Details to be confirmed but it's a good salary (pro rata of course) and will mean I have some guaranteed income each month instead of being entirely freelance. 2 days a week I can handle - and it will leave plenty of time for my freelance work.

It's for one of my clients, who I really like working for. They are cutting edge in communications technology so I will have to update my skills - scary thought.

    Right, I've got a dilemma.

The man who owns the cat who killed our mice has just given me £15 to buy new mice. But I've already arranged to pick up a rescue mice and don't plan to buy any more.

    Do I:
    - keep the money - it's a contribution towards the cost of mouse food, petrol to pick up the new mouse etc etc, all of which I pay
    - give the money to my daughter, who owned the mice
    - donate it to a mouse-related charity

What would you do? Opinions please!

Miracle of miracles, OH has been into the bank and closed his hated HSBC account and credit card. He told them he will be claiming back his charges - and they gave him a leaflet about how to do it!

Now he has just the one account to manage perhaps he will do better at making sure the money is in it to meet outgoings.

And he told me that if we had sex more often he'd cooperate more on financial matters.

    So there's a challenge.

The insurance co has given us the go-ahead to get our front room decorated and the decorator starts on Monday. Hoorah!!

But one little fly in the ointment, Orange just phoned to say that OH's phone has been found in a garage, run over and will never work again. I wonder if it's worth listing on ebay.
