    Hi Sea

Yes I'm working on here all day. I really want to complete seven hours on one job so I can invoice and also clear the decks a bit - I have taken on far too much work.

As for the mice, we have put some humane traps out in case any are still alive and hiding. Our street is now decorated with hand-made posters with detailed descriptions of each missing mouse.

I caught the cat trying to get in the window again so I know which it was. It's the same monster that killed a family of baby great tits earlier this year. I know you can't blame a cat for doing what comes naturally but we are going to tell the owners and request that they at least put a bell on its collar to give the local wildlife a chance.

    Right, back to work....

The cat's owner saw the posters and came round to apologise. He offered to pay for three more mice. I feel less angry now as he was contrite, all the same the killer cat is still roaming the streets.

I'm not sure if we want three more mice anyway. The dominance struggles got me down a bit. Maybe we will just get one.

Someone I don't know well just phoned and invited me to the cinema tonight. I was so touched by the friendly overture that I said yes. Hope it's not expensive, especially as I am going out tomorrow night as well.

Hi Seax, Sea, hypno and taxi.

Well we had a nice day out with my mum paying for lunch and popcorn, so just had to find the money for the film tickets. Went to see Shrek 3 which is quite fun.

Ref the moving. We can't do it until we get money back from OH company. We are talking ALOT here, so we can't just say stuff it and go anyway. But we are hoping we can get there by 8th October as that is the start of one of the school terms.

    We shall see.

Hope you managed to do your 7 hours work. I don't know what it is about OH's. Our fixed rate ran out last year, and he couldn't be bothered to sort out a new one because we were going. Sigh. Don't know how much that has cost us.

And ref the cat. Both our have bells, so the only (wild) mice that they catch must be the dumb ones.... But at least we have tried to be responsible!

Hope that you can sort him out with some work anyway.

Hi Seaxwyn, just catching up on the saga of the day!!! Good news that the owner came to apologise, but I know what you mean about not replacing all three.

How have you managed to get on with your work? I hope you managed to get most of it done.

Enjoy the cinema this evening - what are you going to see?

    Hi chev and hypno

Well I managed 5.5 hours which I'm quite pleased with. Also sold yet another Amazon book, and this time for £12! Well chuffed.

Off to see La Vie en Rose. It's the story of Edith Piaf, so is bound to be educational as I know nothing at all about her. It should be a good two hours escape from my worries, particularly as I will have to concentrate hard to understand anything at all - my French is pretty rusty.

Happy Sunday night everyone and hope to see you all bright and early and full of resolve tomorrow morning!

Morning all. The film was great actually - really absorbing and enjoyable. I strongly recommend it. The ticket was £6 bringing the weekend's expenditure on inessential outings to £40!! Just like the good old days.

I am working at home all week with a lot to get through, and very conscious that this is the last week before the school holidays so my last chance to work in peace and quiet unless my desk in the shed gets built (not much progress there...) so I need to conquer my time-wasting habits and get on with it.

Hope everyone has a good week and will check in frequently I'm sure

Glad you had a good evening, and I hope you manage to get lots of lovely billable work done over the next few days.

    Hi all
Right I have to ask, how are you selling these amazon books? I have had 6 up there for ages and no sales, yet other seem to shift their books no problems? Do you have them listed as auctions or in the shop format, which is how I have mine? I have a load of books to sell, and most of them are on green metropolis at the moment, plus these few on amazon. But none of them are shifting! I was hoping not to have to use ebay with the upfront fees, so any tips ref amazon would be appreciated.....

After you have done some work of course seaxwyn! Good luck with doing lots of billable hours this week. I too need to crack on with the reading for my last essay, though I have got some cover planned for next week for oldest son, so will have a bit of time then too
