Hypno, I think I will do as you say, and continue to offer advice in case he's ready to take it.

I will however have to pay things like council tax and food that can't be gone without.

I will read up on the 'reclaim your charges' thread and see if there is a case similar to his to encourage him. He says that as his main account was a business account the charges can't be reclaimed. Do you know if that is the case?

I am fairly sure that you can claim on a business account. The charges made will still be out of proportion to the actual amount it costs the bank.

A cheque arrived for each of us this morning, which takes the immediate pressure off. OH can pay his CC bill and put both accounts back into credit, and I now have enough to meet all outgoings, including my tax bill, without having to use my NatWest overdraft. Phew! Now I feel less guilty about going out for a picnic today.

We have lived this way - from cheque to cheque - for so long now and I had hoped we were moving away from that. I hope the latest mini-scare opens OH's eyes a bit wider - well I can hope.

What a relief that it's arrived! I too hope that he has had a scare. Sorry I wasn't around last night to send you that drink - do you reckon it's a little early for one now?;)

We had a lovely day out yesterday, met up with friends and barely thought about money the whole day. Spent £34 but it was worth it to get a good break.

Today has started with a tragedy. I left the sitting room window open overnight and we came downstairs this morning to find that a cat had obviously got in and knocked over the mouse cage. One mouse was hiding under the sofa apparently uninjured but the others are nowhere to be found.

The children are flyposting the street and knocking on doors of known cat-owners, but I don't feel optimistic. We are really sad as we'd got fond of the little creatures. Two were very tame and went everywhere with DD, I had to stop her taking one to London yesterday.

I'm going to do 7 hours work today. At least the mouse hunt is keeping the children purposefully occupied. OH has no work booked at all and not enough money to last him a month at current expenditure rates.

Sorry about the mice seaxwyn, how upsetting to wake up to that. Glad one was safe and sound.

Is your OH business quiet or is he not putting enough effort into finding work?

Thanks Zippy. I think it's a bit of both with OH. I am sure he can get some casual work, even if his main business is quiet, so I will badger him about that tomorrow.

Good luck, hope you work it out as it must be very frustrating when you are working so hard to sort things out.

So sorry to hear about the mice :( At least one survived!

Good luck with the work today - I'll pop on later to see how you're doing. I need to get a few things organised, but will sort out what and be back later for inspiration and motivation lol.
