Yeah bet it would be so easy to police the odd million or so listings, get real, cant read & validate every single listing.

Banning IP's will never happen, a lot of providers use dynamic ip's, only way to ban them would be to ban a range of ips, which would mean hundreds or thousands od people being banned.

Ok i have used an analogy myself, but this is getting daft. Everyone agrees what these people are doing is wrong and is being reported and the listings removed.

What these people prey on is the persons gullibility and eagerness to grab a bargain. Most people join these sites without reading the T&C or the warnings about such scams. In fact about 40% of people who buy only read the title and the price, they cant be bothered to read the description.

Ebay earn over £300 million per year. Is it that difficult to have a few moderators closing down the pirate auctions? A movie has just been released in the cinema, there is no way that a dvd is available yet they are available to buy on ebay for a fiver each.

People really should stop defending ebay as they clearly do have powers to do something about it but choose not to. We don't get paid by ebay so why do we have to report the dodgy auctions in order for ebay to actually take notice? Is their time more precious than ours or are they too money hungry to care about piracy?

the winning bidders have NOT yet left any feedback...

1st one ended on 29 Dec

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190066910991

and 2nd one on 31st Dec

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NINTENDO-Wii_W0QQitemZ190066906340QQihZ009QQcategoryZ62054QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and the seller has since had 2 new listings removed...

The seller is going to have to go through the lengthy process of unpaid item strikes, if the buyers never pay up. His ebay fees must be piling up.

Just read all this with interest, no one has mentioned that the winning bidder has left positive feedback for the buyer. I guess the buyer has paid out all this money for a picture but seems satisfied with the fact, otherwise he would have left neg feedback to warn other buyers that this is a misleading item (well not misleading but you know what i mean)

so at the end of the day the buyer is happy with his picture of a Nin Wii, or is the buyer the seller too??

errrmmmmm the winning bidder is the buyer?

A buyer cant leave feedback for themselves? The seller has left positive feedback for both the buyers who have obviously paid him so the seller is happy because hes received payment!

Lets see what the buyers think when they get their pictures!

    You sure about this?
I know 2 people in the real world who've told me they had there IP address blocked (for persistently selling counterfeit goods).
And there's people on here in the past who've said they've been similarily blocked.
Although as it's never actually happened to me can't say for sure.

Well that leaves the seller at a disadvantage as surely he will be getting negatives when the buyers recieve nothing but an image.

If a dispute is raised by the buyer, would paypal be soo low and side with the seller? They probably would.

Then they will have static ip's then. Dynamic ip's are never the same.

Some providers will give you a static ip or you have to pay extra for this, thus meaninf every time you connect to net, you ip address is allways the same.

Whereas with Dynamic IP address, usually the first 2 sets of number are usually the same but the last 2 sets are different.

Plus some people hide there IP address when they go online by using programs to go through a proxy server.

a person in the UK can use a program called hid My Ip and goes through a proxy server which make his Ip look like he is in USA, Asia, or any other psrt of the world

Thousands of people do get banned on ebay but they welcome them back with open arms as they need these users to carry on making them money.

I once dealt with a dodgy seller who never sent me goods, ebay banned him and I lost out on £10. Two days later he returned as a different seller, I knew it was the same guy as the pictures he used were identical and he had the same location. I got him banned by informing ebay, his new account got banned and in a month he returned under a new seller. He was stupid enough to keep using the same pictures.
