Age gaps in relationships...

there is a 16 1/2 year age gap between me and my OH. when i met him he had two children, who are now 28 and 25 and we have since had one child together and i'm due our 2nd in the next few weeks, he has grandkiddies that are older than our children we have together, and his eldest daughter is only 7 years younger than me, eeeek!!!
anyway, i've never been bothered about the age gap, when we met i refused to believe his age as he looks and acts so much younger, it hasnt bothered him either and no one has ever mentioned it to us. as long as each adult is over the age of consent then each to their own i say!Skint, but happy (ish):p0

Really?? I thought my post was quite clear.
1/ I didn't say you. I said "quite few posters".
No, but I was emphasising that I did not associate the money with this.
2/ Relevance is huge. As he is not biological father why should it be "uneasy" that the girl is only 21. Your OH has only 15 years on your son... I doubt the 17 year old will find it uneasy at all.
Still can't see what the relevance of biological or not is. 17 year old still sees him as dad and das still sees him as son.
I have only 17 years on my son, what is the point you are making here?
3/ Again, relevance is massive. New age rules for one side (ie unmarried mother), but not for the other (ie young new girlfriend)
What has new age got to do with it?
4/ Lie. Your thread heading "Age gaps in relationships" suggests otherwise.
There isn't quite enough room in the title box to explain the whole thing which is what this big box is for.

And even if that was your original question - so what, she is only 21 - you were 17 when you had your first child, did you seriously at 21 feel like a child or that you should be judged as not mature enough by someone who is 35?
Judged as not mature enough to have a relationship with an older man? No that never entered my head at 21 as I wasn't dating an older man.If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in 0 0

On a less serious note, the older you get the less it matters.
When I first met Mr GG I was 18 and he was 20, so I was 90% of his age.
When we got together, I was 36 and he was 38, I was 94.7% of his age.
Next month I'm 50  and he is 51 - I'll be 98% of his age.
I reckon in a few years I'll be older :rotfl:
Yes I think you're right, as you get older is matters much less, like 33 and 45, wouldn't seem anything out of the ordinary. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in 0 0

            Not sure I understand ?
Just re-read you first post and it says that you are uneasy because your exe's new girlfried is 21 and your son is 17 - is that correct ?
I still don't understand why you are "uneasy" though - do you think that the girlfriend may somehow take advantage of your son or something ?
You are correct on the ages.
I say uneasy as in I wonder what the kids will think/react like. I'm just not sure about the situation. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in 0 0

He's said yesterday anyway that there won't be a relationship, it's just about the sex, this I do not wish to know about, I don't think he needs to tell me everything! :eek:If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in 0 0

I hope he's told his 'girlfriend' he doesn't want a relationship just a jump  if not he's a sleazebag :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o
