I actually got Thomas' trousers from tesco last year and one pair saw him through the whole year, I was rather impressed! I need to get him into clarks sometime soon, his shoes were looking a little bit worse for wear. I might have to see if I can get to an outlet shop to get them as the high street prices do my head in. I will pay the prices so he has decent fitting shoes, I just find it a bit of a rip off that I can get cheaper shoes than him as an adult! On the upside I don't need to get him any PE kit I believe and his bags are all fine and lunchbag. I think it's just gonna end up trousers, polo shirts and shoes.
I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here :)
  • Anybody got any ideas on toys to buy for a nearly 7 month old?

How about a Take Along Taggies or Taggies Blanket? I bought one for my DD to play with in the buggy and she loves it.

I know Clarks are expensive, but it's worth it. I was in Clarks shoes as a child and I haven't got any foot problems at all - lovely straight toes and no corns or bunions or anything. I've made sure my boys have always had Clarks to keep their feet decent.

Also they last a lot longer than cheaper shoes, which is important when boys play football and climb trees and stuff in them

I know what you're saying, but my mum put me in clarks shoes all through my childhood and then I took up ballet, put my feet through the horror of pointe work and you should see the state of my feet now....... yuck!!! My mum always moans about all that money she wasted on my shoes :rotfl: I just retort that it was her choice to start me at ballet classes when I was 2 :p

Hi Bethom by the way, nice to meet you.

I started off with clarks shoes all the time, but now I will often buy elsewhere but I do ensure that the shoes that are worn most, ie school shoes, are from there as they spend so much time in those. In the summer hols they wear sandals, flip flops and crocs, not so worried about stuff like that.

Yep, didn't have one for DD1 but DD2 didn't think much of it and could get out of it pretty easily. She had lovely chunky thunder thighs and I wondered if she found it too tight around them or something.

Oh, they're really sweet. I wonder if Tom would like one of those maybe as he is a very tactile baby. It was a good idea by someone to make Taggies as I had a cousin who absolutely loved the tag on his blanket and would only go to sleep by stroking it.

Bumbos - Tom has one but if he doesn't want to sit in it he will just straighten his entire body with his heels on the floor and he's practically out of it. He has the opposite of chunky thighs - I am waiting for them to thicken up so it "traps" him in the bumbo. He is very reluctant to sit at all though; as soon as you sit him down he presses against what ever is behind him to stand. I keep telling him his big brother and sister could both sit up by 5 months - and Tom is nearly 7 months - but he doesn't listen ;) He would much rather stand and bounce.

We had Tom's baptism today and he was ever so good. He danced (swaying side to side) to the organ music and after the baptism the congregation all clapped and he grinned all over his face and even acknowledged them by putting his hand up in a little wave. I'm sure he's going to be an actor!!

It could be different for different schools. I go back on Thursday 4th September for INSET and DS goes back the same day. DD doesn't start back until Monday 8th September.

Congrats he sounds like a right cheeky chappie!!

As for Bumbos Ellie loves sitting in hers although does push her heels on the ground and straightens so I've always got to make sure she is not next to a wall, cupboard etc as she continues to bang her head when she stretches in it!!!!
