On a different note... first nappy rash here!! Help!
I have used the fresh air approach and now have a nursery covered in pee :rotfl:. I don't see how carpet burn helps with rashes anyway .

I use Zinc and casor oil, boots sell there own in a big tub . I had tried a few others including sudocrem and bebpanthen but find zinc and castor oil the best.

At least you got a good MOT and now you will manage to get everything treated.

Can I ask if anyone here knows how to quote several bits in one post????

If it's several bits from one post then I just copy and paste the start and end quote bits to separate it out and delete the bits I don't want. If I'm quoting more than one person them I right click on quote on each one I want to quote and open them all in new windows. I do each reply in each separate window and then when they're all done I copy and paste them into one before posting. Hope that helps.

has anyone noticed that when their husband or partner is at home that their little ones play up a bit? my husband has been off work since friday and the baby (7 weeks old) has been unsettled. I can't work out if its because we're slightly out of routine or because when my husband's home he tends to do all the changing nappies and clothes and washing baby and i was thinking maybe the baby is confused and wants me, but I want the baby to be used to my husband as well so I don't want to take over. I just wondered whether others have noticed this as well.

we get this too nadnad - my oh does things completely differently from me and baby actively prefers me at the moment :0)

plus my oh cannot sit in a room with a tv in without it being on, whilst I put baby tv on for approx half an hr a day and nothing else (I'm anti tv until hollyoaks time although these days I watch that on "on demand" as it's baby's bed time), so baby starts to become slightly mesmerised and all out of sorts....it's a relief to get back to a "normal" work day (as I call it as baby/house/garden etc is my job! lololol)

My little one starts off slightly hard to get to bed when oh is around all day and then gets progressively more off routine as the week carries on - the following week is a rest for me!!!

Hi, just spotted your post and thought i'd share my remedy for DD's nappy rash - after trying fresh air, castor oil, bepanthium, some home remedies i found on another mums site and canesten (from docs as we both suffered thrush through breastfeeding and he thought it might help!) i thought she was gonna be stuck with a sore nappy area forever until my HV told me to try Metanium. Its sold in a 30g tube (yellow tube and cream) and cost around £3.69, can be bought in Tesco, Asda and Boots but im not sure about anywhere else as have always bought from these. ;) My DDs sore area had become blistered and was bleeding, :( (i was told by doc was severe nappy rash, worst you can get and canesten would help but after a few days was getting worse and DD was in tears at every nappy change and inbetween a very unhappy girl!) I used the Metanium as soon as i came in from buying it, and i noticed the change at her next nappy change, redness had gone down and blisters, tho still weepy were def better. :o After a day the sores were almost gone, the redness almost gone and a happy giggly baby once again. :D On Day 2 it was totally clear, except for the remains of blisters but had totally healed up and no weeping.:D :D Day 3 showed no sins of rash ever existing! :rotfl: It was such a relief to find something that worked as i was getting quite anxious. Now days i use it twice a day, morning and night and she has been clear of nappy rash since. :T HTH.

I too tried everything for nappy rash then saw a recommendation on here for morhulin cream. Cleared up the rash in 2 days! It is sold over the counter but you usually need to order it in. My local Boots ordered it for me and I picked it up the next day.

Thank you for the advice, thank goodness it didn't get that bad. It's going already and because I have misplaced all three mini-tubs of sudocrem I had to use a Polish cream I have. It contains zinc, which is what helped I suppose.

My ovary ultrasound was clear btw, yey! Although I wanted to smack the sonographer as she kept asking me what I had an ultrasound for if I have no pain or symptoms. Never heard of prevention? Screening? Grrr.

I was one of those singing its praises - I was recommended it by curious george on this thread. Fantastic stuff, the only thing I've found that works every time without fail. I have had some success with metanium, but definitely would make morhulin my winner - especially as it's cheaper! Active ingredients are zinc and cod liver oil (as opposed to the usual zinc and castor oil, ie sudocrem, which I haven't ever had any success with). It smells a bit fishy, but don't let that put you off :rotfl:
