Hope things go ok honeybe.
I need someone to tell me to calm down and stop worrying. My LO is 3 months old and I'm panicking because she screams when I put her in her cot awake. She always has to fall asleep in out arms with the telly blaring and I'm worried she'll never like her cot. Got it into my head to try controlled crying last night but we abandoned that after 10 minutes of frantic screaming - think she's too young for all that kerfuffle!
Once she's asleep she sleeps for a good 8-9 hours without waking so I'm blessed in that department. It's just the cot thing that's bugging me. Am I expecting perfection?
Just had a hard day with the crying and feeling like I can't get anything right!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
my wee man screams as soon as he gets tired but especially in the evenings so i think its a touch of colic, we just have to let him cry in his crib until he goes over because even if we hold and rock him to sleep as soon as we put him down he wakes and cries again so we started the "controlled crying" caper when he was only a couple of weeks (he's 6 weeks now) i felt terrible about it but he just fights sleep so much nothing else has worked. He'll cry for maybe up to 5 minutes maximum and then fall asleep and then wake and cry for less and he does this maybe 4 times and then goes over. I spoke to the health visitor about it and she said as long as we've ruled out everything else eg he's not hungry or wet or dirty then what we're doing is the best thing. i'm sure others here think this is a terrible practice but I really don't know what else to tryDON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Daphne - we can change our names? Can I be ZorgMasterOfUniverse? He could be ttc AND flylady :rotfl:
Weaning - Joseph seems to be able to take milk OR food, and because he needed to fatten up we opted for food - he's now on one or two milks a day. Weaned at 5.25 months he ate lots pretty quickly.
Sleeping - I remember when Joseph first discovered the joys of sleeping on his front - I forced him onto his back for a while. Now apparently (inlaws slept in his room last weekend) he bashes around the cot a lot and is often to be found with bum in the air and head in the bars. So much for elevating the cot to relieve his cold symptoms - the poor mite would end up upside down.I definitely have preggy brain sometimes. It usually manifests itself when I say completely stupid things like I was leaving a friend's house yesterday, and she said, "Enjoy your walk back" and I said, "Thanks, you too"
I do that ALL the time. Or the other one - randomly saying "Enjoy!" when people are off to do something - even when it was once a funeral :o.
I am glad you're all feeling the same, and doubly glad it wears off sometimes.:wall:0 -

My eldest son was due on the 23rd Dec and I really didn't want a Christmas baby, so I was quite pleased when he arrived at the end of November insteadHere I go again on my own....0 -

LOL - I found Charlotte like that before we went to bed last night! She was uncovered, so I just chucked the blanket back over her and left her to it.
She's getting too big for her babygro's and someone bought her proper pyjamas for her birthday, so I tried them on her last night. Was getting her ready for bed after her bath and she wasn't sure about the pyjamas and kept saying "no no no no." I wonder if she thought they were clothesOnce she got them on, she decided she liked them and had to go and show them off to Daddy
She's getting better with cows milk on a morning and will drink it now. She'll not have it straight from the fridge though, so I have to stick it in the microwave and warm it up.
Still got about 1/3 of a tin of formula milk left. I'm using that on bed time feeds and then I'll be putting her on cows milk at bed time. Here I go again on my own....0 -
honeybe I hope you feel better and not have to go to hospital! The stuff we have to go through! as if giving birth is not enough...
Jojo my lil man did the same around 3 months and again at 5. He simply refused to be put down. I insisted that we have to leave him for a bit and my oh kept goingin to pick him up and rock him to sleep....
I don't think that there is one 'best' way to deal with these things. If you can't bear controlled crying, abandon it and don't feel bad. Has she been doing that from the start or is this a new thing?0
