:rotfl:Hi everyone!
I've been away for three weeks and have a lot of catching up to do, but I hope you're all well.
We had a rather tiring holiday with family, where Joseph got doted on by aunties and cousins. Of course they fed him constantly (he MUST be hungry) and rocked him to sleep (nobody paid any attention to my pleas on this) and played with him incessantly.
So much so that I have brought a rather grumpy little monster back home. He won't sleep on his own, won't eat his usual food, is whinging constantly, can't be left alone... On top of that he's got a cold again, must be teething and has learnt to crawl, pull himself up and cruise - which the house is not ready for.
I need a holiday....
LOL I love to read what Joseph has been up to. It gives me a clue as what to expect in the next 3 weeks :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .0 -
can i ask do any of the breastfeeding mothers here have babies who have incredible difficulty passing wind? my baby doesn't really burp, only once or twice a feed usually and his wind all seems to come out down below but most days he's really really uncomfortable when pushing it out and sometimes he screams when he's trying. I asked the health visitor but she just said it was normal and he'd grow out of it but thats not much help at the minute. I'm giving him infacol (thats the only thing she suggested) but i'm not sure if it's really working. any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Hi, I have BF three babies [STRIKE]so far[/STRIKE]. I think wind has to do with the individual baby as my last baby has definitely been the easiest to wind (or is it that I am more experienced). Anyhow, can I suggest you wind part way through feeds as well as making sure you wind after a feed.
Also FARTS  are quite normal but if he is uncomfortable perhaps a baby massage could make things a bit more bearable for him.
Samantha is 8 months old and still needs winding after each feed. For some reason I though they could do it all by themselves at this age, but obviously not. She also still permantly wears a bib cos she vomits for Africa (which is bigger than England and of course where I am from) !!

Hi to all the newbies, good luck to those who are ttc, DH said to me the other night ' shall we have another baby?' errmm nope that implant is staying firmly in my arm
DH brother and his gf are trying for baby no2 and hubby's other brother is planning ttc after his August wedding so i will have 2 ickle biddy babies to make me broody but i'm not going there again
We had another appointment with Adam's consultant this morning, she's pleased with his progress and at 7 months he weighs 12lbs 3oz.
His thyroid function test came back all up the chute and she has reffered him to the physio's as when he stands up his left foot turns outwards kinda like a penguin. We've not to let him bear any weight or stand him up and she thinks that he'll either have to wear a splint or corrective shoe for it.
He's got to have a repeat thyroid test and she's also going to check his chromosones ?sp to see if they can shed some light on why he's still so tiny.
What is the best thing for bags under the eyes? After months of being up from 5am as adam doesn't believe in sleeping after that time they're getting so big i could put my shopping in them :rotfl:
Tried early nights, concealer, foundation, no make up, extra moisturiser but it's not working. If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

My two certainly weren't very burpy babies - it was one burp mid-feed and one burp after the feed. Now at 10 months Alex will still do a burp after most feeds, but he does it himself, usually when I straighten him out and carry him through to his room. :rotfl:
We're at the cruising and crawling stage here too - oh, the fun! :rotfl: Actually I'm quite enjoying my baby having a tiny bit of independence. This morning, he was crawling around our bedroom and then crawled into his brother's room - so cute! Thank goodness for stair gates though, that's all I can say! :T0 -
I'm sure we talked about this at some point last year, and came to the conclusion that breastfed babies do not necessarily have as much wind as bottlefed babies (I think it's to do with BFed babies being able to regulate their milk flow a bit easier).
! :T
thats what the mid wife told me that they dont have wind and while he doesnt burp much he does have loads of windy bums and when he tries to fart it all out he gets in pain and his wee face goes bright red.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

i found that kennedy was a farty baby rather than a burpy baby too! i used to lie her on her back and gently push her legs upto her tummy one leg at a time, whilst singing row row row your boat! do it a few times and then put her in a 'sitting' postion and she would fart for england. if that doesn't work try rubbing her tummy with a small amount of oil on your hands in a clockwise direction from the bottom of the ripcage to the top of the pubic bone. i learnt both these techniques in baby massage class. hth.
for all those ttc a second baby, this pregnancy has been much harder than my first as well as being tired, sick and fat i have a toddler to run around after. i don't find myself being quite as excited this time round but that might be because i don't have time to think about it, with the endless rounds of cleaning and washing and cooking and ........!!!
i'm 26 weeks now and it seems to have both dragged and gone so fast at the same time, and i am petrified how i'll cope with 2. baby is due a few weeks before kennedys 2nd birthday so i'll have 2 in nappies, but this time we're gonna give washable nappies a go as it will be expensive buying nappies for 2 and i hope to bf again as i got on really well lastime and fed for 7 months. and i am so much bigger at this stage than i was 1st time as well and baby is very active as well.
lastly i keep fainting, a few weeks ago i fainted in the middle of marks and spencer on the tuesday and then in work on the saturday and this week i fainted in the dr's! i was laying down at the time so it wasn't too bad but i was very embarrased!!0 -

i have low blood pressure, and when i get too hot i faint. the dr took it for me after i came round and it was 108/65 and it should be 120/80. i can usually feel myself going as i get flushed first so i try and sit or lie down. i fainted once in the hair dressers when i was 39 weeks pregnant with kennedy and the poor girl was so worried, luckily she had finished cutting my hair and was plugging in the hairdryer!0

Hello all- hope everyone had a good weekend
Welcome back ATGUTKA
NADNAD my LO had terrible problems with wind at about 8 - 12 weeks and I second the suggestion above by izoomzoom as baby massage did seem to help him lots- if only to calm him enough to let it make it's way through "so to speak". He still gets it from time to time when he has his night bottle (he is bfed in the day) so I have taken to doing the feed at least an hr before bed so that all the bathing etc brings it up (he seems to need a bit of jiggling to bring it up) and then it'll (hopefully) come up naturally. The absolute worst thing for me to do is let him sleep with any wind still him - guarenteed a broken nights sleep then!
We are also at the crawling /cruising stage - cute but hard work, we've even had to resort to using the travel cot as he was standing up and then almost "chucking" himself at the bars on the way down - he's got lots more control now though so maybe the cot won't go to waste completely..just waiting for the day now when he starts to climb the furniture - it's not far off I think. I'll never forget the day I walked iinto the kitchen for a minute and came back to find ds1 perched on the tv cabinet (silly mum had put a lower table beside it never dreaming he would use it as a step up). :rotfl: can laugh about it now though!!
SUZUKI BABY - hope they manage to find out why your LO is so dinky, good to know they are looking after you well though. Can not suggest anything good for bags though except maybe trying to blackout the LO window as much as poss....mine was regularly doing a 5AM on me until I followed some advice given on here a few months (?) ago and put cardboard up inthe window to block light (so thanks to whoever that was)

I have to say I found the second pregnancy much tougher too, even though generally I am very lucky and both my pregnancies have been easy with no complications. As you said, it's when you have another LO to look after, plus all the housework and work and chores and every other thing, it's hard to find any time for yourself, or time to actually enjoy being pregnant.
Take care, and try to take it as easy as you can0
