It could be something you are eating resulting in a green poo. You could see if it is something triggering it like drinking fresh orange or eating garlic!

It sounds like she is thriving so i wouldnt worry at all. Babies can change the consistance of their poos quite frequently. I was really worried with nathan as he would go DAYS.. once 10 days between dirty nappies! Apparantly that is normal too and each baby can be slightly different. When we did get the dirty nappy in the early days, it was an exploding one! Vests have gone in the bin because of it!

I have also had a friend who thinks BF is something unnatural. He was male though and thought that boobs should be sexual and had to run out to buy a copy of the sun to see if he still found them attractive. He was kidding though, he just found it a bit uncomfortable!

Thanks Vix, I do drink quite a bit of orange juice, maybe that's it. It doesn't seem to bother her, although as you say, we do get a fair few exploding nappies, and have also had to put vests (and sleelpsuits) in the bin!

I had to laugh at your friend running to buy a copy of the Sun...typical man lol! :D

Having found the MSE pregnancy club invaluable over the last 6 months I thought we should have a similar one for us MSE parents.

Our little princess, Imogen Beth, arrived 5 days ago on Boxing Day and now the money-saving really begins! :money:

I'm hoping we can use this thread for sharing money-saving tips, and giving and getting mutual support and advice.

  • Hi everyone,

Just an update on Jack's feed. Thanks to the person who suggested I try a faster teat. I moved him onto no.4's this evening. Hardly any fidgeting (but he was tired) and he drained 7ozs in 5 mins, took me 3-4 mins to burp him, maybe as he drank fast and then the last oz in 30 secs if that!! Then he promptly fell asleep in my arms and that's home done till tomorrow!!!

Why couldn't I see the wood through the trees? It will be interesting to see how we go tomorrow if he plays up still or concentrates as its easier to suck now. He does lose a little bit, but I guess he will learn to keep up like all the other times we've moved up a size.

Question is, what happens when he outgrows this teat, it stops at this size. I could have this problem again in anothe 6-8 weeks. Any thoughts anyone? Maybe I could add another hole myself.

And a question I meant to post over the weekend. Is there anyone here who knows about grobags. Jack has recently decided that grobags are acceptable, having previously had hsysterics when trying them. We have 2 x 2.5 togs and one 1.0 tog. However I held up the 1 tog and the 2.5 tog, both with the same design and made by "Grobag" and the 1 tog felt heavier, even hubbie agreed. The 2.5 tog is quilted and the 1.0 is toweling on the inside. How can the 2.5 tog be lighter? Sorry for being dense but I'm wondering if the 1.0 tog has been mislabelled.

    Thanks guys.

Welcome to mooikgal, i shall definiately need your advice if this LO does ok? I couldn't b/f my ds1 as i didn't have enough reserves and my quality of milk was rubbish. I only 10lbs throughout my pregnancy, 7 of those in the last 7 weeks, lost 12lbs through delivery and then a further 7lbs through 2 weeks of breastfeeding. I had to stop as I permanently had the shakes and felt exhausted.

I don't want that to happen this time, but I haven't managed to get my weight back up to where I was last time yet and I feel daunted by it all. I can't drink my prescription milklshakes now as theye contain vit A. I seem to be such a worry guts lately. One step at a time.

Bailey - I use the grobags - the towelling lined one is definitely the lower tog - something to do with the type of fabric as the other one is quilted and therefore more insulation I think. I don't tend to worry too much as I adapt what she wears under the bag to the temperature ie on a hot night I might only put her inside a 2.5 tog grobag with her nappy on, no vest etc. The 1 tog one I've got is the next size up (it was DD1s who was born different time of year) and it is still way too big - not going to bother buying a 1 tog that fits her now unless it becomes really sweltering.

Doh! Forgot you're getting married on Saturday. It's Errington I was referring to, more unusual than Winstanley I would have thought, hence my near hysteria!!

I think green poo just means they have a bit of an upset belly, could be linked to what you're eating. As long as it isn't permanent it's nothing to worry about. Imogen's nappies varied at this stage from what we called Korma to cottage cheese and mustard seeds! All is normal. LOL
