I have to agree. It might help them for a few days, but really any routine would be out the window anyway in bad circumstances - who are all these people in our home, why is daddy not playing with me, where's mummy (I'm gonna make myself cry :o) and then people would have to make up their own routines.
I'm scared that (and he's not denying it) OH would just send Joseph to live with his mum and only visit him at weekends or something horrific like that. She is his first choice because she used to be a childminder. However I have noticed that the only skill she has is bucketloads of patience. I've lost all confidence in her recently as she physically held him down because he wouldn't eat - anyone can feed a baby like that , I thought she'd have some sort of knack. Anyway, I'll stop rambling.[/PHP]

SNAP :D I have the exact same fear and have even go so far as to make him promise he would look after Archie if the worst should happen - OH thinks the sun shines out of his mothers *** but I don't rate her parenting skills at all - OH ate only weetabix (12 a day:eek: ) for a period when he was a child and he's still not that great an eater now (although he swears blind he eats everything BUT ....too long to list !) she spoils the other grandchildren terribly and I dread to think what she'd be like if asked to take it up again.

Susan - the same thing happened to me and I ended up feeding in a disablede toilet - yuck ! It was a good excuse to go home early though.:D

Good to see you too CG my Archie has just hit 6 months too - doesn't time fly !

    hiya,
yup, we were on normal aptimil to start with but changed to easy digest because Danny was really windy and after a day on the new milk he was a much happier baby, i recommend trying it, but before you do... i suggest you find a stockist because getting hold of it can be a nightmare, boots will order it in for you, large asdas sell it and i have yet to see it in any size tesco.

Thanks for responding, CG. Can I ask what bottles / teats you are using, and how old Danny was when you started using it? I found it in our local Sainsburys - Tescos and Boots don't stock it here.

We use Tommee Tippee Closer To Nature bottles, and when we swapped to easy digest we bought size 2 teats as its slightly thicker than ordinary formula and he would have struggled with size 1.
I think he started on it when he was about a month old.
our boots doesnt stock it either, but they will order it in specially for you without any bother

tsstss7 - hi! i know... i still cant believe my eldest will be 8 next month, let alone how Daniel is getting along,
he is almost sitting up (he can do it for a while but wobbles over)
he wants to spend all day stood up (with support obviously)
hes refusing to roll over
LOVES his food (which is about to get a lot chunkier)
    he has 2 teeth
and yesterday he threw himself off the sofa!!

and to anyone who remembers all our drama... apart from one more check up appointment in a few months to see how he is... we have been discharged from hospital care!

I just thought I'd follow this up by the way as I went ahead on CG's recommendation and bought a couple of tubes of this cream as Izzy suffers terribly with nappy rash.

It's called Morhulin and I am so impressed with it. I had tried every single nappy rash cream, you name it, sudocrem, tea tree, metanium, drapolene, bepanthen, canesten hc, vaseline... all of it. I'd never heard of zinc and cod liver oil cream, but as none of the above had made much of a difference to her bum, I thought I'd give it a go.

Since then, about 3 months ago now, we haven't had anywhere near as bad a rash as she used to get. It still flares up from time to time and can get weepy in such a short space of time, but the Morhulin zaps it every time. Fantastic stuff.

I couldn't find it in any of my local chemists, but they ordered it in for me. Cost a couple of quid for a tube, so not too pricey either.

So a hearty recommendation from me. Thanks CG if you ever come on here anymore.

    s'ok, :D
told you it was great stuff!
we havent had any real problems with nappy rash since we started using it,
and now i only use it if things are starting to look a bit pink and its gone before it gets a chance to get worse!

aaawwww those cute little first teeth -
no teeth here yet, and oh spends lots of time balancing Archie in sitting position only for him to topple over while oh squeals "look he's sitting up!":rotfl:
We do have rolling and crawling (dragging belly on floor still) so now he never stays where he is put:eek: ,

Have been thinking about going onto chunkier food also....weve done rusks and bread (thanks to grandma:rolleyes: ) so nearly onto the next stage already!

glad to hear all is well with daniel:j

Wow CG, cant believe Danny has 2 teeth. Sounds funny when Henry, him and Archie are all a couple days apart...Good news about the hospital.

HF wont roll over but he will sit up on his own although we put a V pillow behind him just in case. He also likes standing up al the time. Food wise still on puree but getting there...

had a better night last night as well...maybe it was wind the night before..:j

CG, welcome back to the fold! Glad Danny is doing so well. How are you feeling?

Feeling as sick as a piggy her at Camp SB. Also have a dilema that MIL is hinting that SIL is going to ask me to have her baby for one day a week when she goes back to work. Obviously we haven't told anyone our news yet so DH might have to confide in MIL. Feeling really bad about the situation...

Thanks for the replies about breastfeeding at a wedding, I think I'll try fac's suggestion first and see what happens. We discovered Alice's fifth tooth yesterday. I was really suprised as it is only a few days after the fourth so I looked in my baby book to see when I got mine and I was exactly the same age! Have finally sorted out some pics from Alice's birthday. (The blurry face is because they're from my blog.)

Don't feel bad - TWO babies is mega hard work ( and too much to ask of you anyway when it's not your own imho) three is just impossible .....I would have said no anyway myself for anything more than a few hours let alone a whole day - and every week - WAY to big a commitment - (maybe I'm selfish but in your position esp I'd be wanting to enjoy time with baby they grow too darn quick !)
