:j I am now officially off work :j for a whole year!!! :j

School finished at 1. I was given some lovely pressies, and we went to the pub for lunch. And i found out today two of my close work friends are also pregnant, so i will do some of my maternity leave with 2 of them. :j :j

so lots to look forward to.

I have a corking headache tonight. Think i might be a bit dehydrated. Or from sitting with my head turned to talk to my mate in the car, as we were gas bagging for about 2 hours.

In terms of toys for tiddlers, charlie loved the fisher price touch and cuddle hedgehog
10-1253-01.jpgas he could close his fingers around it, and loved hoopy loopy monkey for a long time

21LnStkv-SL._AA115_.jpgas he could get his whole hand around the arms and legs and get a good hold. It it the only toy we ever lost and had to replace as he missed it so much.

both will be coming out for the new baby.

I'm starting to get scared now - 61/2 weeks to due date, the house is still in uproar from being so messy and all of upstairs being jumbled from redecorating.

we have two seperate lots of workmen coming to the house on tuesday, which i thought would be fine as DS would be at nursery, but the nursery is closed for rennovations. Oh well - will just have to get on with it.

    Happy Easter Hols everyone

Hey Michelle - it's like we've done a straight work swap - I went back this Monday. Happy to be back though, I've missed the guys. Awww!

Forgot to say that we also bought (second hand from Ebay) a Tiny Love play gym similar to this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TINY-LOVE-SUPER-DELUXE-BABY-ACTIVITY-GYM-BABY-PLAY-MAT_W0QQitemZ160217409037QQihZ006QQcategoryZ131082QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It was also brilliant value and has washed really well. It took her from 3/4 months old to the batting stage, to sitting up and playing. I've packed it away for #2!

Hope you don't mind me sharing, but I lost 1 stone just before we went away and decided that would be my target weight loss. So I'm now a proud Slimming World target member. After having 3 weeks on hols (and eating and drinking plenty!) I only put on 1/2lb :T That could be due to the fact that we walked at least 5 miles each day  along the beach/sea front. I'm proud of me :T It's taken nearly a year of 'slimming' but is well worth it.

I'm breastfeeding and we started using a dummy when we started doing a bottle feed at 10pm which was at 13 days. Didn't seem to cause any confusion as I'm still breastfeeding at nearly 11 months.
Yep, both my boys were BFed and had the dummy from 2-3 weeks old maybe (sorry can't remember exactly), and it never caused any confusion in terms of feeding (in fact it was the opposite - much needed relief from a baby constantly needing to suck ).

We also gave up the dummies at 6 months, both times, and it worked perfectly for us.

    Well done Lu :T :j

I'm hoping to lose some weight before the summer - there's nothing like the prospect of a beach holiday to make you want to lose a few pounds (or stones :o :rotfl: ).

I'm actually not doing too bad as I'm now slimmer than I was when I fell pregnant with Alex, but unfortunately I'm still carrying some extra weight from DS1, so about a stone and a half to go

My only problem is I don't do dieting (love my food too much :p) so it means I have to exercise

    Congrats 3kids, haven't had a chance to say ...

Talking about toys, what do you think of treasure baskets, and so easy to do in true :money: way

There is also further information about Heuristic Play

Obviously geared at the not newborn baby ...

LuT, well done on getting to your goal weight. I am just fed up with my weight - I weigh no less than I did a week after having Samantha, but I just can't stop myself from eating. Being at home so much is just too difficult to stay away from the kitchen

cha97michelle - 6 weeks is a long time, but time flies. Hope you get everything sorted (I haven't and I have been at home for 5 months now :rotfl: ).

Becles - hope the sick bay is on the road to recovery soon !

On a personal note, Samantha is 19 weeks now and is almost sitting. I can't believe it as DS1 was 7 months old before he learnt to sit  .

    Hi 3kids

I introduced my DD to a dummy at 2 days old (still in hospital so smuggled in by mum) as she was/is a big comfort sucker. I was up all night every night whilst in hospital with her (I had a section so was in for 5 days).

DD was properly introduced when we got home at 5 days. It never caused any problems, if she wanted a feed she would spit the dummy out, and still does.

DD only has it for sleep, I know she is fully asleep when the dummy falls out of her mouth.

It also means that's she's been more willing to accept the gummy dummy I've got to help with her teeth.

    HTH

    MDW and DD 11 months
Proud to be dealing with my debts
    DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it
    dreams do come true (eventually!)

Hi 3kids - what about cloth books, especially brightly coloured ones with touchy feely bits in. Charlotte has been looking at books since birth and she loves them. Cloth books are easy to hold for little hands.

Sick bay improving here! Tooth is feeling less painful on these antibiotics but they give me awful wind :o All the vomiting has gone, and Charlotte is just mildly snotty now.

Hubby has got an appointment with the specialist on April 21st, so not too long to wait. He's also been looking into courses he can do at home to get IT qualifications, but he also really wants to buy a burger van and find a regular pitch for it.
Here I go again on my own....

Went for my babys 6 wk check last week and the GP mentoned a dimple at the base of his spine. We are now waiting for an appt to have an Ultrasound to see if he Spinda Bifida.

The GP says this dimple at the base of the spine is very common and may be nothing at all. Has any one on here had a similar experience?

I am so scared i want to be sick

    Update

Took my little boy to see the specialist and he is fine his dimple is nothing to worry about,:T :T if I wasn't breastfeeding I would be very drunk by now.:rotfl:
