  • Thanks guys. DS has an appointment with Health visitor at the baby pop in clinic tomorrow so I think I will mention it to her then. It's still very very heavy and nasty although I admit it isnt as bad today as it was yesterday as I can't feel it dripping out (sorry for TMI but yesterday I could feel it leaking out).

Oh and Becles sorry to hear about your dog. At least she didn't suffer.
  • shelvis, defintely get it checked out, mention it to the HV by all means but make a docs appointment, the HV cant/wont examine you... they will more than likely tell you to see a doc...

i have to say though you sound a bit like me, my lochia loss kept going (completely) then coming back with a vengance,
one time it dwindled down to nothing, went completely for a few days until i was sure it was finished so i stopped using the pads (without any accidents) went out one day and bled so hard it soaked through my knickers, trousers and onto the seat i was on at the time.....
it took until Daniel was just over 6 weeks old for the bleeding to stop for good, and then about another 2 weeks for my first period to arrive (wasnt expecting it and woke up in a puddle)

awww I share a birthday with your son!

I agree with the others, Shelvis, do get it checked out. My first periods after both babies have been slightly heavier than usual, but not to the extent you've mentioned.

Have you been under stress recently? I'm only asking because my bleeding got quite heavy after a very stressful few days when Alex was about a month old.

    Becles :grouphug:
  • CG I am not suprised you had the same - we just about had identical pregnancies!!! It's the pain thats making me think its a period (although its the most painful one i ever had!) because i had no pain when I was bleeding with the lochia.

Will see how it goes overnight and ring GP in the morning then. We can't make appointments for tomorrow have that stupid ring on the day system.
  • Things here have been rough, I've had sickness and diahorrea since Saturday and getting very weak now. MW was talking of induction but my doctor wants to establish whether its a pregnancy thing or a bug (e-coli etc). Will know tomorrow what the score is on that one. In the meantime he's prescribed anti sickness tabs and i'm not eating. At the moment I feel to weak to push a baby out therefore making induction not an option, so we have to work on getting some strength back into me. I've come close to fainting several times and get very breathless. MW reckons we have a 8lb
infant on our hands, which scares me slightly as jack was only 7.1.

Thankfully Jack has gone to Ian's parents today as its wednesday and i've been able to take it extremely easy, not that i could do much else today.

Better go, feeling really weak at typing this.

Oh and Becles - big hugs.
  • sorry about the font, don't know how that happened.
  • I wouldn't get too worried about being too weak to push a baby out. I was too weak to do any of the following things during my pregnancy but still managed to give birth:
    1. Stand up during the hymns or sing the hymns at church.
    2. Stand up long enough to have a shower.
    3. Wash my hair (my husband did it for me and I even found that tiring).
    4. Read out loud (I just didn't have enough breath).
My midwife said afterwards that she'd been worried about how I would manage in labour given how ill I seemed to be during the pregnancy but when it came to I just semed to manage.
  • I'm still around - hopefully will be for a number of weeks yet as i am only 28 weeks today.

Bailey - take care. Make sure you get plenty of rest and fluids. Sorry to hear you are still not well

Becles - sorry about the dog. It is like losing a family member isn't it, so a big hug to you too.

I had a MW appointment today, and looks like i might have a(nother) urine infection, she also did blood tests for anaemia. To be honest, i feel poop, so i'm hoping both tests come back showing a reason why, as then i might be able to take something to feel a bit better. Also the midwife might then take me a bit more seriously. I am also back up to the weight i was when i fell pregnant, so at least something has moved the right way. My back has given me some real stick though this week, so i resorted to sleeping with a pillow between my knees last night which helped a bit.

Next MW appointment is not for 6 weeks now. Seems crackers, but if i do not get any better i will make a drs appointment i think.

I also rang up today about my maternity leave as i wrote to payroll/human resources on the 7/01 and hadn't heard anything back. Lucky i did, as they didn't know anything about me, so they were sending me a pack in the post so i can get that sorted this week hopefully. All good fun.

Shelvis - i think you should make yourself a Dr's appointment. Heavy blood loss like that can quickly lead to anaemia which can be very dangerous if left untreated. Just for peace of mind if it has gone on for a bit.

Are we all enjoying half term? I know i have been working my socks off to help clear deadlines for the next few weeks of work, but i have seen some sunlight and feel better for it.

It's half term next week here. I haven't got any work booked, and to be honest I'm not really looking hard for any :o If something I like pops up I'll take it, but otherwise I'm looking forward to spending time with my boys.
Here I go again on my own....
