Sorry to hear you've been poorly purplepatch.
I've had the fluey thing too and I can't shake the cough off. I'm going to the doctors on Thursday to see if they can do anything.
How did you get on Becles? Did they give you anything for it?
I'm getting to the end of my tether with this virus and the cough most of all. I'm now almost into day 9 of having a temperature:mad: I phoned NHS direct yesterday and they said I needn't go to the docs, just plenty of rest, clear fluids and paracetamol. But this cough is unbelievable. It irritates my lungs constantly, but I can hardly cough anything up and whatever does come up is not discoloured etc, so I think I can rule out a chest infection. But today twice I've coughed so hard I've ended up being violently sick. My stomach muscles are bloody killing me too. Sorry if TMI but I just need to vent. I went to bed early, but I've had to get up again as I was coughing so hard I was worried about disturbing everyone.
I'm just so fed up.
Thank goodness for my lovely parents and neighbours who have been helping take DD1 to school this week and another who had both DDs over for tea this evening.
:T
I should just add on a more positive note that I weighed myself today for the first time since this virus started just over a week ago and I've lost over a stone in weight, so that's my christmas tummy sorted :rotfl:0 -
Hi guys!!
I have graduated to the parenting thread!! Feels VERY weird let me tell you. And of course I am up at silly hours as I only had him on sunday.
I had him at 2:45am and he is now most active at this time - grrr. He seems to sleep all day and be awake and want to stare around or feed tons in the night!
So happy.0 -

The doctor said I've got an infection in my sinuses. I'm prone to these! He's given my a course of antibiotics and they should clear it up.
I would get an appointment and get yourself checked out in case you need antibiotics too.
Congrats shelvis - hope you enjoy this threadHere I go again on my own....0 -
Congratulations and welcome Shelvis! :j And what an excellent choice of name (we've got an Alexander here as well
)! :T
Been to visit the primary school that DS1 will be starting in August. Was actually quite impressed but OMG I can't believe my first baby is going to be a big schoolboy soon!:happyhear

Can't wait for this phase to be over, but not looking forward to the next one - AF coming back (in about a month's time, I reckon )
AF?Hope you get on okay with the school, Dormouse. My eldest really loves school which is a relief!
Congrats on the new arrival, shelvis, and welcome to the thread!
My news - just discovered that Ben's first tooth has broken through!! :T (Discovered when I felt the pain as he bit into my finger!! I was expecting the usual gummy chew not a spike!!)He's also back to doing more frequent poos - don't know if that's related at all.
He was also (properly) sick for the first time yesterday. He's not seemed unwell at all though and slept fine last night.

Hi girls
Just been catching up on posts.
Welcome Shelvis and congratulations.
I remember the screaming phase very well. Came home from France on a plane with a little boy doing just that and feeling smug that Imogen didn't. The very next week...
Imogen's vocab is coming along. This week's addition is 'pretty' which seems to mean "take me to that i want to look at it". It's mainly accompanied by pointing at something on the wall/ceiling she fancies. :rotfl:
She's been saying 'baby' from about 9 months. It is consistently used for people and animals, so we think it's basically anything with a face. Baby's brains are so funny with their language processing.
She is also attempting Oopsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle, but they are only just recognisable.
Better get on with some work :rolleyes:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

:rotfl: Never heard that one! Mine hasn't returned yet. I even did a pregnancy test the other week as my baby bulge has come backand my son even asked if there was another baby in there!
The good news is that I'm not pregnant again - the bad news is that I am officially fat!
Lu - Imogen sounds really cute and quite advanced with her language! :T I can't remember my oldest making any real recognisable sounds until well past his first birthday.0
