Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hiya Ladies
:rotfl: :rotfl: poo porridge :rotfl: :rotfl: . Well actually I am just laughing because is seems everyone else is !
Now that Christmas and New Year are over and done with, and Samantha is past 6 weeks (well she is 9 weeks now) the honeymoon is over !!
We have / are starting to join a couple of 'groups' and I am making an effort to try and shift some of my excess ... um ... well everything !
So this morning, well there was Power Pramming, which is a group of highly fit mums running around the local park prushing their prams .... ha ha ha .... I decided to join ... ha ha ha.
Well I am actually quite proud of myself. Running / jogging are really not my thing, but I did manage to do a bit better than I thought I would. I probably managed to jog about 1/4 of what everyone else did (combo of jogging / walking) and I did manage 2 circuits of the park, in comparison to everyone else 3, but hey, it was my first time, and I was breathing through my ...
And I even ventured up cemetry hill too. OMG !! (you know I think they call it cemetry hill for reasons other than just its location) and didn't think I did too badly either (well no one ran it, so that is something to strive for :rotfl: ).
Samantha slept through the whole lot :T , except for the bit down the hill and by the time we got to the end of the park for a bit of 'wind down stretching' she was screaming, but hey she needed to exercise her lungs after all that exercising I had done.
Plan to do it again next week, but might give it a miss if it is pouring ... if anyone fancies a rain dance (hey that is exercise too) next Wed am, please feel free :rotfl: .
Samantha had her first jabs on Monday too - did the usual cry thing, but had absolutely no temperature or funny turns later on. :T Was quite annoyed though  (and sorry this is just me  ) but saw one of the other first time babies getting a doze of calpol just after her jab - in anticipation of her getting a temp or something. My reckoning is that give them something if they need it, otherwise they will become immune to it and then when you need to get their temps down for real, the medicine doesn't bloody work !! Sorry moan over !0 -
Well done izoomzoom, I'm exhausted just reading about what you've been doing! :rotfl: I actually looked up the power pramming thing online at some point, but there isn't anywhere near me to do it (just as well, with all the atrocious weather we've been having!)
Alex has been absolutely fine with all his jabs, so no need for Calpol. I know even some health professionals say to give them paracetamol before they get any symptoms, but it's not something I'd do.0 -
Still waiting for Henry to have his jabs ( he's 9 and a half weeks) because my sister's kids both suffered from passively transferred maternally direived tetnus antibodies so waiting to hear if I need the paedeitrition( bad spelling sorry) to do the jabs.
On another matter, although Henry was delivered by emergency c section they tried once with forceps and suction first so when he was born he had a large suction patch on his head. This has since become a large bump on the left hand side of his head. He always seems to lay on that side and also look that way alot more. Did anyone else have this problem? The HV reckons it should go down but its been there for ages now ? Suppose I am just a paranoid first time mum !!Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
I only gave Charlotte calpol after one of her injections. She had a small lump where the needle had gone in and cried if you touched that leg, so I think it was that hurting rather than anything else! Here I go again on my own....0

Charlie has had his first 2 injections and the 3rd one was cancelled by the doctors surgery. I've called them to re-arrange but they said I'd receive another letter with new appointment but I haven't yet. He was due to have these injections on new years eve, how long should I leave it before chasing the appointment?:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009
:heart2:Toby born Apr and taken by SMA Dec 2012
:heart2: Baby boy failed M/C @ 20 wks Oct 2013 :heart2: Sienna born Oct 20140 -
Apparently they don't really know how paracetamol works but I've never heard of anyone becoming resistant to it. Our GP prescribed it for Alice before her first injections and gave us directions on giving it to her "just in case" as a preventative measure and also what to do if we didn't do that and she then got a temperature (i.e. cold flannels etc) and told us that while he recommended giving it just in case, it was up to us which we felt most ocmfortale with.
Claire: I'd probably call back again in case it's been lost in the post.0 -
This week, we have mostly been doing... screeching!
My adorable and cute baby has discovered his voice, and thinks doing a really high-pitched screech for absolutely no reason, every couple of minutes, is really funny. You should've seen the looks we got in an empty Tesco today! :rotfl:
It's funny all these little phases they go through, I'd managed to forget some and now they're all coming back to me. As for me, I'm at the losing my hair stage - oh the fun!!! Can't wait for this phase to be over, but not looking forward to the next one - AF coming back (in about a month's time, I reckon )0 -
DS is now much better in nursery, although he still cries when I drop him off or pick him up. I am aware he stops very quickly once I've gone though - apparently this morning it was just after he waved me off - still sobbing - and then they closed the front door...:D
He is now sleeping through the night again after he has been to nursery, and naps better there too - so really he is much more settled.
I am going down the single jabs route rather than MMR - ( Please do not feel you have to comment negatively on this - I know this is not for everyone and I am not advocating it for anyone else!) and a neighbour has agreed to keep me company in case the sat nav gets me very lost around Manchester...lol.
He is now signing much more meaningfully - new ones this week was a very obvious milk, come here, and a very bizzare version of cat - but we now know what he means when he does it and gets really excited at our pet cat.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
We're not doing the MMR either but possibly for a different reason (human diploid cell lines).0
