think I was having a little panic that I was doing everything wrong...
Welcome to being a mum :p

Seriously, with my first I felt I was doing everything wrong. With my second, as long as children get fed, I can see some bits of the floor underneath all the crap, get some MSE time, and get some cuddles in between all the whingeing, I know I'm doing okay. :rotfl:

Oh and thanks for the offers of listening ears.

Are any of you single parents?
Is everything okay? (or is that a stupid question?)

Don't think there are any special rules re hanky panky after a section, just whenever you feel ready. Saying that, Izzy is 13 months and I'm still waiting for my libido to put in an appearance :rotfl:I mentioned it to my gp the other day and she's given me a different pill to try, but she's the same age as me with 3 kids and she seemed to think that a lack of interest was pretty much par for the course and more likely to do with feeling utterly knackered and always ill with the latest school lurgy  ...Hats off to you for being up for it!

Lu, can you share any tips for getting those Ashton and Parsons powders swallowed?? I usually manage to tip it all over the place and that's before I even get it anywhere near Iz. Those strange folded paper wrapper things are tricky when you're as cack handed as me! First time I used them I thought it was the medicine information sheet and tipped the contents in my lap.

Are you supposed to wait 6 weeks after a normal birth? I thought it was just 'whenever you felt ready'.

We have 'resumed relations', but I'm still waiting to feel ready.....lol!

Natasha has Ashton and Parsons powders. The way I do it is, I wash my hands, then I dab my finger on her tongue to wet it, then dab it in the powder, then dab it back on her tongue.....and repeat until all gone.

Oh, and I tipped one all over me the first time I used them too! :o

how about a well timed handjob? :D
do something thats guarenteed to get him ...umm... *finished* so he doesnt pounce! (i recommend use of a little baby oil to move things along nicely if you dont normally use it)

basically... it may be only 3 weeks but I AM ready, and have been for a few days now, the only thing thats stopping us is the contraception issue, i refuse to take even the slightest risk of getting pregnant again, cant bare the thought!
but we hate condoms and frankly i dont trust them, every one of them that ive had experience of has spilt or broken, *TMI ALERT* i even had to pee the end of one out once cos it broke off and got lost inside me! (what that says about my boyfriend at the time...im not sure! lol)

things are happening *wink wink* so we are not desperate or anything (i woke him up and jumped him at 7am.... lmao)
i just want to re-start the REAL sex :D :rotfl: :D

I was told by the hospital to bear in mind that I'd just had major abdominal surgery before resuming our love life. Really, I would be very worried about the stitches and stuff causing you bother...

We've been giving them to Imogen for so long she just sees them, leans back on my lap and opens her mouth! She was a bit suspicious the first few times we gave them to her, but is pretty good now. I think the suggestion about the tongue and dabbing is a great one if baby isn't obliging.

I've been nearly crying with laughter at the sex discussion :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Even got hubby to read some of the posts as I was just creased!! I too have absolutely no libido and although we do "have relations" I'm not always the most willing participant to start with. I just can't seem to get in the mood, even when we're part-way through. It's very enjoyable, but I'm just not as "into it" as I used to be. I've also discussed it with my doctor and she said pretty much the same thing. Parr for the course with a baby in the house and us both working. I've written to Santa and asked for a libido for Xmas...

Lol, you've described me to a tee. So glad it's not just me! I think poor DH takes it personally sometimes. I just can't explain where it's gone, but it's well and truly vanished. Not sure Santa is that much of a miracle worker :rotfl:We're just coming up for 10 years together, so perhaps I'm being a bit hopeful for some major rekindling of passion, but it would be nice to rediscover it to some degree!
