(btw - great part of bottle feeding was that DH would do the last feed before midnight so I would go to bed at 9pm and then even when I was getting up at 3am for a feed i had had SOME sleep between 9 and 3.)
I still go to bed early now while OH does a ten o'clock feed even though Alice has slept through for months. :T

My C scar has healed very well, and I have most of the feeling back. Mine was a week before yours Lu T.
I was back doing the preschool run 2/3 weeks after mine, pushing prams, lifting carseats, food shopping etc. I think being active helped me heal quicker though, although I do remember the lochia went on for an eternity, so perhaps in retrospect I was overdoing it a bit. Needs must though - there wasn't anyone I could rope in to help after DH went back to work, so what can you do.
Lu, I've just been poking at my one year old scar, which was my initial scar from Olivia 4.5 years ago reopened, and although it isn't numb, it is nowhere near back to normal. I wonder if it ever returns to normality?0 -
*sneaks in*
I am co-sleeping with DS, most night feeds don't even require me to open my eyes unless we're uncoordinated and get in a muddle
Any other co-sleepers? My only gripe is that I wake up aching from laying on one side. I do tend to shift him to the other side of me and turn over maybe once or twice but this is only temporary relief. Any clever pillow tricks or anything?0 -

Hi Fac  Aww he's lovely... a blondie, like mine!
We don't co-sleep as such, but in the early weeks Alex spent about half the night in our bed as I was too tired/asleep to lift him out after a feed.I too got sore from being on one side - in fact I still do sometimes! No idea what you can do about it, but just wanted to say I know what it's like.
We had the best night's sleep last night - 8pm till 5am for a quick feed, the up for the day at 8am! :T I bet you anything this won't last... :rotfl:0 -

You are bringing back some memories for me of early baby days. God - what have i let myself in for again?
I remember only too well the jaundice, the colic, the every couple of hour feeds. We have had a couple of rough nights with charlie this week with his teeth, and it has killed me. Thankfully i have the day off work tomorrow for a midwife appointment and his MMR jab so i may get some chance to rest while he is sleeping.
anyway, lots going on here. don't remember seeing bailey, so i hope she is ok.
c-scars, my sister still doesn't have full feeling in hers and her little one is 4 and a half.
i worked out today i only have 14 and a half weeks of being at school until my maternity leave starts (not counting school hols) so i am guessing i will have to get myself organised and apply for maternity leave. That is if i ever get xmas sorted out.
hope we all get some well deserved sleep tonight, and thank you for sharing the very cute baby pictures0 -
awww fac - he's lovely!
To be honest, there is no way I could co-sleep with a baby. Even if they are just in the same room, I don't get any sleep at all as I lay awake all night listening to them
All mine have been in the cot in their own room since birth.
Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep tonight. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Those first few days with a new baby are so lovely. There are already little things I miss about Natasha being tiny - the desperate, frantic need for milk, the fierce little look in her eyes when she first latched on (she's ohhh so casual about it all now that she's a grown up girl....lol), and of course the 'milk only' nappies (so much less smelly
).
But I love watching them grow and develop too, she learns new things every day and it's just amazing."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I saw a tiny baby on TV last night and said to hubby "Aww, I want a little one like that." He said he absolutely didn't as Imogen is now "fun"!! We do still want another in the next 2 years or so though, I think he's just finding his feet with her now he can be silly daddy and get lots of giggles. I do miss the cradling a tiny baby and them just lying on you for ages. Imogen's not an affectionate child, she's so independent so doesn't cuddle or kiss and pushes you away when you try
I miss our 3pm snuggles on the sofa when we both used to fall asleep in front of the tv until OH got home. Sniff...
BTW Susan - we had a similar regime to yours by the sounds of it. I managed to get Imogen to drop her 10.30pm feed at around 5 months - she'd been sleeping through for about 5-6 weeks. We upped what she has at bedtime to about 8-9 oz, which she guzzled, then one night we just didn't go up to dream feed her. I can't remember how old your LO is, but we were relieved that we could fall into bed at 9pm if necessary and not have to get up again to feed her :T . She's slept 7-7 pretty much ever since. Some mornings she even goes until 8.30am :T :T HTHMSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
