report her to the police, the space saver is an emergency wheel only, not a replacement wheel.

Not all though (in fact, I would say that is a very small minority). According to the RAC patrolman who came out to me, when I had a blow out recently, he said that the most common call-outs are to women who don't know where to find their spare wheel, let alone how to change one. ;)
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Or in My boss's cars case, for about two weeks, nobody could.
BMW had to get a specialist in to drill the locking wheel nut.

Some genius at BMW had "cross threaded" the locking wheel nut and air gunned it on.
For good measure they also managed to strip the wheel nut "head".

I have never bought a car where a full-size spare is not at least an option, and I don't intend to start unless I am forced to by pernickety laws.

The Focus was the first car I've bought with a space saver, and the first thing I did with it was buy a steel wheel for a fiver and replace the two front tyres, keeping the better of the two (with 4mm of tread) as the spare.

A slightly-inferior Pirelli P7 is better than a space saver any day of the week. The irony was that because the space saver was brand-new, it actually paid for one of the Toyo tyres that took the P7s place on the front wheel :)Why anyone would pay £60 for a space saver tyre is beyond me, but I took it gladly lol.

Really? :rotfl: How and where did you get that!

Strange things however- Skoda supplied the Octavia with a fullsize spare- Michelin Pilot Primacy too, but Fabias of the same time period have space savers! I have a spacesaver with space for a full wheel provided. Why it wasn't is unknown marginal cost saving I guess.

I'm currently looking for steel wheel cheep having got a Kenda Komet cheapy tyre to put on it but no luck so far- think I'll go to dealer and pay £30 or so for a new steel wheel. Problem is finding a 205/16 wheel with the 4x98 stud pattern- not common from searching.

My most urgent problem is I cannot get the locking wheel nuts removed- every time I put the key into the locking wheel nut and foot against the wrench it just slips and falls out. Nobody can do it which is a bit of an issue. Bought McGard locking wheel nuts to replace to avoid insurance issues and the key was a wider fitting to the standard wrench size so just returned them.

And yes, the sign does generally tend to stay stuck to the back window.

Yep, even when the little 'un is tucked up safely in bed at home and mum/dad is out and about on their own. The sign gets put in the day babba gets brought home from the hospital, and removed when the car is sold. Pointless, utterly pointless.

It's worse than pointless as, in theory, it could have the fire brigade searching through a dangerous wreckage looking for a baby that isn't there.
