Spacesaver wheels and lazy people!

The following rant has been prompted by the actions of someone who lives near to us.
She is in her thirties (I guess), lives in a nice house, and has a 57 reg Punto in good condition. She also has one of those annoying signs in the back - "Little Princess on Board"
She obviously wants other drivers to be careful when they are near her.

Why then, has she been using the spacesaver wheel on the front drivers side for the past few months (at least)? She also uses it on the motorway, and isn't a slow driver.
Some people have no idea:(

Have you tried having a quiet, respectful word in her ear? She may not even be aware.

It's not for that purpose, it's more of a pride thing.
BUT more deeply it's actually a socially rewarded pattern of behaviour. I have a lot of women as Facebook friends and every single day there's a "awww my little princess" (or similar), followed by 200 likes and 30 supportive comments.... At a very young age they've learnt that such behaviour is rewarded with social attention and as such continue this through adulthood.

As for running on a space saver....

If you care so much for the safety of your neighgour, why not inform them that the spare wheel is a bad idea for long time driving

I always took those signs (regardless of the gender specified on the sign, or lack thereof) as a warning to be careful around that person as they are a crap driver.

It really comes as no surprise that you of all people treat such behaviour so flippantly.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Don't know them to talk to, and the other half is a bit of a bad tempered idiot with a "reputation".
It seems that when I try to help people, or alert them to danger, they have a go at me, so I just keep quiet now.
The best one was at a golf driving range, where one guys little lad was wandering into the bay on the the backswing, nearly got hit a couple of times.
I politely spoke to the guy, and he told me to f**k off and mind my own business - charming.

Her other half runs a BMW, so he could tell her, perhaps he is just trying to get rid of her.;)

Some of these are clearly labelled as 'Max speed 80kph' which equates to 50mph. Hopefully before she has an accident some helpful person in blue pulls her over on the motorway and gives her a ticket, that should help her remember.

Maybe she is so thick she thinks KPH and MPH are the same thing.;)
