most people are not awre they are to get you out of danger tyres and go bald very quickly, apart from the dangers due to things like different slip angles when fitted on the steered axle
to be honest even though you might get an earful i would politely let her know shes dicing with danger and points
lets be honest most drivers these days are muppets after all so do need guidance even if they dont like it0 -
Don't know them to talk to, and the other half is a bit of a bad tempered idiot with a "reputation".
It seems that when I try to help people, or alert them to danger, they have a go at me, so I just keep quiet now.
How true.
Someone had a right go at me in an Asda car park after I pointed out that their nsf tyre was a directional one that was on backwards whilst they were loading 4 kids into their Mk3 Golf on a very wet day.
They then drove off with a mobile phone clamped to their ear and pulled out in front of a big black Range Rover that had right of way.
Oh and their osf tyre was a space saver too.0 -

Then the bits in the manual that say all of that, as well as the big sticker on the wheel, which says the wheel should not be driven above a certain speed, get ignored then? Whose fault do you think that might be?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Don't let that discourage you Lum, we're not all like that.
Several years ago I was stopped by an oldish guy who informed me that my nsf tyre was wearing on the inside (I'd parked with the wheel out next to his car). I was very grateful and had the front suspension looked at the same afternoon (it was the second car and I hadn't noticed it).
It'd be disappointing if people stopped helping others out like this just because of a few bad apples.0 -

^^^ I didn't say "your nsf tyre" I just pointed to it and said "you know that tyre's on backwards" and in response to her "so what" comment, attempted to point out that if a copper spotted it that would be 3 points and a fine because it's actually very dangerous.
Indeed. A couple of teenagers passing by mine helped me out on sunday. To look at them you'd probably write them off as chavs, but they'd come past earlier while I was working on the aircon in my car. On their return trip as I was getting in to drive off, they stopped me and pointed out that I'd left the old aircon compressor in the middle of the driveway right in front my car and was about to drive over it.
Off topic: Bloody glad the aircon was sorted on Sunday too0 -

Trouble is that these people are rarely the ones who are affected the most when their cars skid of the road killing pedestrians. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Yeah, but they make up for it with the 15 kids.... :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Sorry dont understand what you are trying to say
many wheels in boots spacesaver type are missing stickers and handbooks get lost
it therefore follows that punto driver could be unaware, what we are saying is tell her for the sake of the children but be alert to being abused by her0
