    Ok, feeling a little bit better today re my baby flying. Thanks to everyone who wrote such supportive responses when I was feeling low. It's really nice to be able to come on here and feel like you're part of a big community. :D

    I go back to uni tomorrow, and have one of my coursemate's funerals (he died during the holidays after a car crash aged 24) to go to in the afternoon, so probably wont do much flying tomorrow :cry: .

    So far today I have:

    • Done one load of washing, dried and put away;
    • Emptied DW;
    • Been food shopping;
    • Aired bed;
    • 27 FB;
    • Cleaned bath;
    • Cleaned hob (long overdue and getting really mingin!)
    • Made important phonecall (find out what time we have to be in 2mo);
    • Checked emails & MSE. :j
    Off to do the other things on my list now:
    • Hoover hallway;
    • Living room - hoover, dust, hoover sofa;
    • Prepare evening meal (grate cheese, chop leeks)
    • Make bed;
    • Put away 2nd load of washing;
    • Make dinner (Creamy leek and smoked cheese pasta with pine nuts and veggie bacon);
    • Shine sink.
    Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Sexy mouse - ((HUGS)) with something like that on your mind it's no wonder you'd been feeling demotivated. Well done on getting back up and on.
    Hallway, stairs & landing now done (including under a cupboard & all spiders now need to rebuild)
    Wish I'd thought more about dinner - I know need to defrost my fish for fish pie. I always forget to do this when I cook this dish ... Perhaps it's a Freudian slip as I hate the smell???

    Afternoon everyone who is flying ;)

    Interesting to see so many teachers on here. Does that mean that teachers are messy. :D I must say, i class myself as a highly organised person compared to many others that i know, yet teaching plus housework overwhelms me. I know its because i don't throw away worksheets or anything i think i may use again, although my grand plan is to type up old sheets, and then store all on an external hard drive, therefore taking up less space than the 5 or 6 boxes currently on top of the wardrobe plus a 4 drawer filing cabinet at school.

    My plan is to get on top of things once and for all while i'm on maternity leave, and then see how i cope juggling the baby and working 4 days.

    I must say, it helps having a supportive DH who will do as much housework as me.

    today i'm feeling quite good.
    • 2 loads through WM
    • Airers emptied
    • baby fell asleep while i was getting dressed, so i tackled 22 items of ironing - only 28 left on the current pile and then i may try to iron as i empty the airer therefore not having a pile in future. Fingers crossed.
    • ate a cooked lunch which was some of yesterdays roast reheated. (makes a change from something in toast)
    • Already have cooked chicken for several meals this week, plus lots of chopped onion now in the freezer so i had room to put the chicken in.

    While baby is playing, i have planned what loads of washing i will put through each day, have written a full master to-do list of everything in my head so i may now sleep tonight, and i've started to plan meals. Just need to write it in my diary.

    All left to do now, is chop some leeks for tea, heat up, cook the rice. Wash up. Bath baby. It's all coming together nicely. :T

    Thank you again Moggins.

    Michelle, xx

    LOL I used to work as a cleaner in the teachers mess in Germany! And believe me it was a pigging mess too!! Each teacher had a bedroom and sitting room and shared one bathroom between two. I have never seen people try to cram so much stuff into such a small space before!
    Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    Today I caught myself quoting the dreaded phrase to my DS
    "If you're going to do it you might as well do it properly" :eek: :eek: :eek:

    (ds had practically 'shown' the vaccum to his room that was very much in need of a thorough vaccum clean).

    Realising what I'd just said I decided to do something I'd been procrastinating about for a while and print out the 'student control journal' for him. I'm also going to print out a calender page for January for him and give him the stickers that I had in the 'stop smoking' envelope from Tesco pharmacy (no I don't smoke, but there are some good money off vouchers in there :p )
    I thought I'd pop on here to give everyone the link as sometimes these things are difficult to find on the F/L website. While I was there I found a few other interesting pages too :o . Hopefully this direct link will stop the rest of you falling down the same hole!

    With regards to teachers.... when I worked at a school I quickly noticed that teachers of certain subjects tend to have similar traits. Most relevant to this thread was the Geography teachers - boy do they love to hoard!!!
    Not only was every wall in the store cupboard lined with shelves from floor to ceiling and filled until it overflowed, but the floor consisted of very narrow walkways between piles of papers that were at least 2 foot high!!!
    My job for this teacher was to reorganise the store room - I used to spend a couple of hours each week sifting through all the papers and guess where most of them ended? I could've been done in half the time if they'd simply placed a skip outside the window :p
    As for teachers staff rooms - it's no wonder there's so much sickenss in schools! I swear that the biology labs could come up with new forms of bacteria if they were to swab the cups in the staff room sink - proabably a few new creatures too!
    That said I don't think it's because teachers are lazy - there is no way that anyone who choses to work with 30 od students every working hour could EVER be classed as lazy! :T :T :T For teachers.

    PS :p to little_me for being 'teachers pet' ... you swat :D

    PPs don't forget 'clutter nutter' is on at 6:30 on cbbc tonight (sounds like a room tidy/declutter programme for kids)

    Hey aimeelister - Ladygrim here - borrowing Nickibabes computer - Im hoping to do my carpets this week. Purchased a Bissell cleaner with upholstery attachements last year for about £150. Have already used it on kitchen floor, and it was great. Friend borrowed it for his carpets and said it worked a treat. Am actually looking forward to doing mine! (how sad am I?)
